For the two or three of you out there who might be driving through the Sunnyside this afternoon/evening, be sure to avoid the intersection of Congo and Mangels. It looks like this truck is going to be there for a while. Oops.
This sort of reminds us of the beached limo incident in Potrero Hill, circa July 2007.
UPDATE: The intersection is now clear. Phew.
P.S. This is right down the block from the house that collapsed earlier in the year.

I gave up platform heels at this intersection... I know it well. (I lived on Mangels and I walked this route to BART 5 days/week. One fateful day, I lost my footing whilst wearing the last pair of platform heels that I will ever own/wear... and I rolled down Mangles to Congo. I managed to pull my skirt down from around my ribs and waist in time to smile at the nice garbage man driving up Congo. This intersection sucks.) But, I loved Sunnyside!
Girl, I hear ya. Sunnyside hills can be brutal!
Those darn hills !
It's not a State Highway, for Pete's sake, but stil, there are no signs like on Potrero Hill, ('Trucks Not Advised').
Sheesh.
Is it cleared yet?
Some years ago, I too was walking briskly down Mangels to BART. I was in a pair of new dress shoes with smooth leather soles. Nice fetishy pointy Italian jobs.
They did not mix with the wet sidewalk, and I went sailing into to the air, slamming back to earth making a hard landing on my hands.
At least I got a healthy supply of Vocodin, a week off of work, and learned how to mix my now favorite drink called V and V.
One half glass of Gray Goose and one Vicodin. I didn't feel badly about having to call in sick that week, or about anything else.
I had a paper route down there 50 years ago and didn't fall over once,--you people are clum-ZEE!!!
