SFist Tonight

joestrummer.jpg

-- "Endless Strummer": It seems like at any moment in San Francisco, a Joe Strummer tribute is taking place. Ok look! Here's one now, featuring Clash City Rockers, La Plebe, David J, Odd Numbers, the Hooks, Harrington Saints, the Shakespearos, and the Ferocious Few covering his oeuvre. Starts at 9 p.m. at Bottom of the Hill, 1233 - 17th St., all-ages show; $10.

-- Jay Mohr: The man who plays a most excellent asshole on TV and film shows off hi standup comedy skills tonight at 8 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. at Cobb's Comedy Club, 915 Columbus; $30.

-- "Leisure": No, we didn't forget about you, hipsters. Check out this Britpop night, which also features '90s indie rock, mod, and shoegaze dance floor beats, as well as karaoke the backroom. Why, just think of all of the ironic hits you can croon in front of your greasy pals! DJs Aaron & Omar spin at 9 p.m. at Annie's Social Club, 917 Folsom (at Fifth Street); $5.

-- Monterey Pop (1968): The Grateful Dead, the Mamas and the Papas, Jefferson Airplane, Booker T., and more of your parents' and grandparents' favorite rockstars are captured in glorious Technicolor. Screens tonight at 7:15, 9:15 p.m. at the Red Vic, 1727 Haight (at Cole).
