SFist Tonight

erno.jpg

-- Benefit Show Honoring Erno "Tattoo" Szabady: Local rock bands Slowfinger, DickDusters, and the Walker Brothers get together to raise money for a burial "niche" for well-known, recently deceased tattoo artist, Szabady. Show starts at 8 p.m. at Peacock Lounge, 552 Haight Street (at Fillmore); $10-$15.

-- Live-in Maid (Cama adentro): Norma Aleandro's dramatic role, about a "wealthy woman and her live-in housekeeper" dealing with the economic collapse in Argentina, finally arrives in the states. Screens tonight at 7:10 p.m. and 9:40 at Opera Plaza Cinemas, 601 Van Ness Avenue.

-- Arch City: Young smarty-pants builders litter this "Architecture and the City" festival kickoff, which will feature a live architecture competition. We're not sure how that works exactly -- maybe a toothpick bridge building contest? a Howard Roark look-alike contest? lego building? -- but it should be interesting. Goes from 6 p.m.-9:30 p.m. at Dzine, 128 Utah; free with RSVP.

-- Beyoncé and Alan Thicke's extraordinarily hot son: Come see the upstaged dreamgirl and Robin Thicke perform tonight at 8 p.m. at Oracle Arena, 7000 Coliseum Way, Oakland; $56.90-$143.57.

...and remember: the Bay Bridge closes at 8 p.m. The countdown begins.

Your description of the architecture contest reminds me of the time in Sunday school when my toothpicks-and-rubber-cement Tower of Babble fell down because I built it too high. I cried but also won as many candies as I could fit in my little hands.

oh man, just catching up on SFist after a weekend away, but I read this post and was all, like, "wait -- beyonce and alan thicke have a son together? when did this happen?"

don't worry, i figured it out.
