Um, are you kidding with the Gogol Bordello "art rock" swipe? They really are Gypsy Punk. Or Alternative Romany. Just take a listen and learn. Art rock is written for listening and specifically NOT for dancing (stuff like King Crimson, Yes, Genesis). Gogol Bordello is ALL ABOUT THE DANCING, insane Ukranian pogoing, more specifically!! I mean, people were wringing the sweat out of their shirts on the sidewalk outside the Fillmore after the show.

also tonight, you can come check out the launch party for WireTap Music (www.wiretapmusic.com), a new blog/webzine entirely dedicated to the local Bay Area music scene.

the show will feature two awesome local bands, Little Teeth and Pidgeon, as well as guest DJs. cost is a mere $6, and the show is benefitting the local chapter of NARAL Pro-Choice America. @ El Rio (3158 Mission St x Cesar Chavez), 9:00 pm.

that is, if you don't already have tix for the Joan Rivers Theatre Project...
