"Knowing San Francisco, we'd eventually get a Department of Crapper Cleaners with a $1 billion annual budget" is absolutely right - no doubt under the thumb of the SEIU. Being a janitor would now be a 6-figure job!

And it would be great, too; you see it all the time in Europe. If it weren't for the fact that any proposal reeking of common sense is immediately shot down in this town of mental defectives, I'd say it would be worth a try. But, honestly, why even bother?

Since SF can't keep anything in good working order, why not hire JC Decaux to put in those self cleaning commodes? They often suck, yet they still suck less than the SF maintained ones.

I have never seen a clean park bathroom in San Francisco in my entire life (or anywhere else for that matter). I also have never seen anyone attempt to clean one or even a cleaning vehicle outside one.

Why so much for a new bathroom? Since we're a santuary, we might as well use illegals to build them (unless we've already outsourced the job to India or maybe we're using slave labor in China?).

Wouldn't it be more cost-effective to do something totally revolutionary, like hiring people to clean the bathrooms?

Probably not. Knowing San Francisco, we'd eventually get a Department of Crapper Cleaners with a $1 billion annual budget.

why not put in the coin op bathrooms, like on the embarcadero, in the parks? the homeless won't want to pay - I think they are pretty clean - and the mommies & kids can have a (somewhat) safer bathroom experience!
