SFist Tonight

daftpunkelectroma.jpg

-- Daft Punk's Electroma: Pinocchio-ish road movie about two robots -- played by Daft Punk members Peter Hurteau and Michael Reich -- and their quest to become human. Riot In Belgium, the Bang Gang DJs, Dandi Wind, and Richie Panic & Jefrodisiac perform tonight before and after the movie. Doors open at 7 p.m. at Mezzanine, 444 Jesse (at Mint); free with RSVP at going.com.

-- Justice League Wiffle Ball Game: According to Laughing Squid, "no gloves or other equipment are necessary. Showing up late is fine. Do not fear to come no matter how terrible you may think you are," which is perfect for sports-phobics and the lazy looking for sweaty, competitive fun. Games go from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. behind Embarcadero Four at park near Justin Herman Plaza (at Drumm and Clay); free.

-- Funny But Mean: Cruel sketch comedy starts tonight (and tomorrow night) at 8 p.m. at the Exit Theatre,156 Eddy (at Mason);$7-10

-- Zappa Plays Zappa: Dweezil Zappa headlines this tour honoring his father's loopy rock-jazz work. Starts at 8 p.m. at Berkeley Community Theatre, 1930 Allston; $39.50-49.50.

-- Homespun Rowdy Fragment: Czech Republic bluegrass band delights the Mission hipsters at this Valencia Street venue. Amnesia, 853 Valenica (at 21st Street); free.

(Thanks, SFist commenter, for filling us in on tonight's updated schedule at Amnesia!)

where's "Valenica St."

Homespun Rowdy's bass player and his wife recently had triplets so they're back east tonight with his wife's family. En lieu of Homespun Rowdy, Fragment, a really good bluegrass band from the Czech Republic, will be at Amnesia tonight. http://www.fragmentband.com/
