Why should Ed be worried? In San Francisco you can murder the mayor and another supe and get a minimal sentence.

There may be a cultural reason here. I lived in China for a while, and learned that whenever there was a tense situation or confrontation, the Chinese would often just give a broad smile and let the other person rant. To save face, to make it appear as if all is well. That's my theory.

I looked at the CBS raw video feed of all the shenanigans accompanying Ed Jew's court appearance. (See applejuice's post above for the link.) What bothers me is EJ's smiling and glad-handing most of the time, while Fazio remains appropriately grim. If I were appearing to have a trial date set for my alleged felonies, I'd look like a deer caught in the headlights. Anyone have any theories why Ed Jew smiles so much?

Jew blood! Good times. District 4 voted for Jew because his whole platform was a promise to lower property taxes, and we're the district where owners outnumber renters. The cop that owns the house across the street from me had several billboards for Jew. Makes me smile.

How come no one in District 4 is protesting? I've seen hardly a sign calling on him to resign. Seems that most of the people out for Jew blood come from other parts of the city.

Not guilty of not living somewhere. And on not finding one he would deftly fashion a replacement using the tiny piece of tin that binds the ends of his shoelaces. It was another world in another time, after the dinosaurs but before the invention of brunch. Large woolen caps, kites for Christmas presents and more than enough doses of the clap to satisfy everyone. People bought vaccum cleaners from a band of roaming sex offenders, you knew your neighbors and the upper classes enjoyed badminton and bare bating. Just look up the meaning of sarsaparilla and tell me it ain't so.

Love the blog, y'all, but you should change that headline to "Not Guilty Plea" - I jumped a little thinking somehow there was a verdict already and I bet I wasn't the only one.
