Bring Out Your Drag Kings: 12th Annual Drag King Contest

dragking07.jpg

In the tradition of Mona's 440 Club, where dames dressed up like fellas and had a gay old time -- before they got thrown in the slammer for doing so, that is -- Saturday's hotly anticipated 12th Annual Drag King Contest perfectly balances out the myriad of other drag queen nights and competitions San Francisco holds.

Benefiting PAWS, the best part about the 12th annual Drag King Contest, aside from all of the booze and opportunities for getting laid, is that the festivities are open to those of you 18- to 21-years-old. So, all of you lonely Orinda, Sausalito, or San Jose kids and fresh-faced college students, head on over to the big city. If you dare.

Really, this is not to be missed. We blacked out at last year's competition. You won't regret it.

The (fe)male facade showdown starts at 9 p.m. at SomArts, 934 Brannan (between 8th and 9th Streets); $15-$35.

A little off topic here, but how is that dog sitting like that? Amazing. And it always warms the ol' heart when compassionate people come together (then hook up and black out) for a great cause. Love that.
