If there's anything you can do to avoid crossing 19th Ave. on foot...do it. The light cycles are too quick for a lot of pedestrians (at least for old folks or those with mobility issues), it's loaded with out-of-town drivers who don't know how to cope with peds, and its high traffic is relentless.

i live on 14th ave and there was another accident at Clement and Park Presidio tonight. There is at least one accident a week at that intersection. The Examiner said that the Cal Trans project to put in countdown lights on 19th Ave and Park Presidio has been delayed because the bids came in too high. This is a tremendously dangerous road -- basically a 6 lane highway with pedestrians. Something needs to be done before someone else dies

... cause nothing says "this city is walkable" quite like our gently sloping hills or our friendly shady lanes (e.g. 19th Avenue, Van Ness or Lombard heading out to the bridge).

at the northwest corner of the intersection Uh, I think that's the northeast corner.
