Local Fire And Brimstone (If By Brimstone We Mean Generalized Trouble)

1121581920_fa733863cb_m.jpgDid you see (video footage) all that smoke (pictures) yesterday? A fire at 17th and Noe Street between the Mission and the Castro at around 6:30 yesterday evening displaced at least 14 people, and sent seven to the hospital for smoke inhalation. One man had to be rescued off the roof. The fire spread to the building next door too, but firefighters managed to put it out before that building was too damaged. The SFFD is still investigating the cause of the fire, though one witness said she'd been repeatedly complaining to her landlord about pot smokers in the building.

Well, we don't think we felt this one, but there was a 3.2 earthquake at around midnight this morning centered in the Oakland Hills. No injuries or damages reported.

And an 80-year-old pedestrian was hit and killed by a MUNI bus (a northbound 28) yesterday evening around 10 p.m. at 12th Avenue Balboa and Park Presidio.

Oh, and in our tips line, gunshots heard in Pac Heights last night too. Anyone got any info on that? (Or, on the other tip of note, Concord's Yul Kwon Day, for that matter?)

The muni bus incident should be corrected:
Park Presidio and Balboa

It can't be 12th avenue because Park Presidio runs parallel to 12th.

MUNI Demands sacrifice again.

Right you are, Akit! That was my cartographical brain freeze re Balboa. Edit forthcoming.
