Hey, Who's He Calling 'Fat Ass'?

Fun video: A San Francisco-based officer from the Federal Protective Service gets mad at skaters. Now, granted, this thing was probably highly edited and we certainly only get one side of the story (the kids'). But, still, unintentional hilarity ensues, as vulgarity is used to show these hardened criminals who's boss. Seriously, we can't recall when the last time we heard someone use the word "numb-nuts" like for reals. And the "we're at war" thing . . . sigh.

I see crime everyday and the police just drive on by (eating, smoking and talking on their cell phones - of course). I'm glad to see one of them finally "working"??????

But we're at WAAAAAARRRRR! Against skateboarders!

Aside: Are we supposed to carry ID around in this country?

Amazing how bad ass the cops are when confronted with a 75 pound teenager. I wish they could get it up like that with the real crims.

I guess I'd prefer some vulgarity to a nightstick between the eyes.

I love it when skaters own the cops with video. What a fucking douchebag.

these cops are idiots. they are not keeping the courthouse safe. there are no terrorists crying in their caves right now because some dorky skaters, who complied with the request to leave got hassled by some punk cops who don't do anything.

this city had the freaking attorney general's car broken into in front of the Mayor's office and the criminals got away. people shoot people by the cable cars, and they get away. and meanwhile fatass overpaid federal cop gets to hassle a couple of skaters.

oh I feel much safer now. NOT.

I guess this gives them a nice break from sitting around on their fat asses at the cafes, ignoring real crime. And we're supposed to give these worthless tools a RAISE?

Well, Federal police have nothing to do with crime in most parts of the City.

I think we should just use tazers when skateboarding kids start damaging public property to fulfill their desire to do tricks. DOn't even ask nicely ... just taze em.

The Homeland Security cops SHOULD be getting out of their car and cleaning up the trash circling the new Federal Building between the cafe and the main building - huge freakin' tornado of trash pile there at least every weekend (and probably through the week, though i wouldn't know)

Push your luck and pay the price. Tough shit.

"You think it's funny???"
YES - we do! I hope Officer Numb-nuts finds out how many people are laughing at him. Sad little "man"

That officer must have one heck of a small penis.

It is not funny at all. The skater boys are like Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan - clueless and with no respect for following rules. The Punk'd generation thinks everything is a joke .. a big laugh. I think the policeman was just trying to impress upon these kids that although their parents may let them be jackasses all day long, they cannot come to a Federal Building and act like jackasses. These two dorks are the variety that get airports evacuated and closed down for hours.

Edited for my viewing pleasure, or not... I think that the Policeman was a bit rough with that kid. I don't like the pulling and shoving aspect of his lesson teaching here. But, I really want to know: did that cop ever return the skateboard(s) that he tossed into the car trunk?

Can't we all just get along?!?

skaters can be a pain in the ass, and yes, the cop had the duty to tell 'em to move on. but once they complied, just because they had hipper than thou attitudes, that did not make them Osama Bin Laden's bitches.

there are real threats to federal facilities and we need our cops to realize what is a threat and once assessed, what is not. then we'll all sleep easier knowing that douchebags, be they american or whatver, aren't frakking with our buildings.

but please, is "numb nuts" in the federal policia hand book?

Phew!! Thank God. Maybe there won't be any more drive-by shootings near Union Square now. Thanks, SFPD. I can sleep well tonight. God Bless America.

Mwahahaha.... this is funny. Those punks deserved every word that was issued to them along with their fines. It ain't funny till someone cries and I'm sure those punks are crying now and don't find if funny no more. Fair warning was giving and they chose to ignore it. Good for the officer who told them off.

WTF has happened to SFist's comments lately? Have we been invaded by the raving trolls from sfgate or something?

We're the skaters on Federal property when they were stopped by the black cop and had their boards taken? I think not. That fat ass rent-a-cop was out of his jurisdiction and he knows it. It seems to me he commited an armed robbery under the auspices of Federal law enforcement. The skaters should throw the book at his jiggly ass. And you know the judges of the 9th Circuit would back them too. All you straight and narrow law and order fratish types can go suck it!!!

Puisque la provocation
Celle qu’on a pas dénoncée
Ce fut de nous envoyer
En réponse à nos questions

Vos hommes bien lunettés
Bien casqués, bien boucliés
Bien grenadés, bien soldés
Nous nous sommes mis à crier

A bas l’Etat policier (ter)

Parce que vous avez posté
Dans les cafés, dans les gares
Vos hommes aux allures bizarres
Pour ficher, pour arrêter

Les Krivine, les Joshua
Au nom de je n’sais qu’elle loi
Et beaucoup d’autres encore
Nous avons crié plus fort

A bas l’Etat policier (ter)

Mais ce n’était pas assez
Pour venir à bout de nous
Dans les facs à la rentrée
Vous frappez un nouveau coup

Face aux barbouzes, aux sportifs
Face à ce dispositif
Nous crions assis par terre
Des Beaux-Arts jusqu’à Nanterre

A bas l’Etat policier (ter)

Vous êtes reconnaissables
Vous les flics du monde entier
Les mêmes imperméables
La même mentalité

Mais nous sommes de Paris
De Prague et de Mexico
Et de Berlin à Tokyo
Des millions à vous crier

Fat Assed Totalitarian Motherfucking Pig. 'Bout the only good thing I can say is that the Cop is so out of control that he'll stroke out and die before long. What an Asshole!

That cop gave me the business too! I pulled over in a white zone in front of the fed building, thinking I could drop off my friend--and that same cop pulled up from nowhere, blocked us in, and gave us a lecture about "Not parking in front a federal building when we're at war." I was like, "Dude. Just dropping my friend off. I'd be out of your way if you weren't blocking me in."
He flipped out, asked for license. He's totally out of control. In this case, the camera got it right.

FPS law enforcement personnel all have statutory arrest authority and must comply with California guidelines for POST standards and accreditation. They undergo intensive law enforcement training similar to the training the U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Capitol Police, U.S. Park Police and U.S. Border Patrol receive. They also have an MOU with SF that enables FPS to conduct full law enforcement activity anywhere in the City. FPS cops are the real thing – don’t make stupid mistakes that will get you jammed up.

Why don't they hang out at the corner of Goldengate & Hyde in front of the post office and catch some dope dealers? Postal property the last time I checked was federal property.

It's great to see law enforcement of this type, I wish the Guiliani lifestyle enforcement policies were in fact in this great city and clean up the filth like these punks off the streets so we can finally take them back from them along with those nazi pikers passing off as bikers during "critical mess".

Response to #24: The Postal Inspection Service and Postal Police have exclusive jurisdiction on Postal property as per an MOU with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA); GSA has delegated all law enforcement responsibilities to the Post Office. In many cases, it is not cost effective for the Postal Service to maintain a law enforcement presence and by default, catching the “dope dealers” would be the responsibility of SFPD.

As a matter of interest, FPS participates in joint law enforcement task force operations and in fact do arrest “dope dealers.”

I agree with this guy's comment. FPS also has a tactical SRT (special response team) and are often called in to handle special events such as Katrina, Olympics, DNC and RNC, G8 and the list goes on. There have also been serveral FPS cops killed in the line of duty. I know in Washington DC, FPS cops have authority throughout the City.

It does seem that this FPS cop was out of line however we cannot judge FPS by the action of one cop.

The guy who posted at the reponse to number 21 about - your an a-hole Remember Timothy McVeigh! Moron!!

Mommy, Mommy, that man yelled at me!! That's ok son, no one is allowed to correct you or tell you what to do, even me, your mother. You are allowed to do what ever you want, and you don't have to respect anyone or any laws. I will just go see our lawyer and sue the city, state, and government, and we will have enough money that you can buy a new skateboard and go back out and break the law and do whatever you want!!

Regarding Comment #27: "cannot judge FPS by the actions of one cop"???????????

After thinking about it . . . . yes. . . yes we can!

These officers wear a uniform to protect employees and the visiting public. There actions directly reflect upon thier co-workers and thier department very poorly.

They are over paid and thier jobs are becoming obsolete.

I hope you all realize that tape has a missing section. It has been edited before being posted.

The officer should have behaved in a more professional manner but I’m glad he did what he did. I sincerely hope you people bashing the officer have kids vandalize your property and still think nothing should be done!
