Duboce Park Troubadour to the Tots

tots.jpg We were hanging out with a couple of our wee friends at the Duboce Park playground on Friday mid-morning when the four-year-old came over and tugged on our sleeve, urging us to take them outside the gates to watch "THAT GUY! He's here!" Upon hearing the faint strums of a guitar, we figured it was just another busker. So, we at first blew him off and said, "We can hear him from in here."

We finally gave in and escorted them outside, where there was already a crowd of adoring fans surrounding the performer. Our charges got right up there in front and plopped down on the pavement to hear performer Kim Gill's excellent renditions of classic children's songs and rockin' bluesy covers. There was a fast number where everyone was jumping and boogie-ing around, which we unfortunately didn't capture on our cameraphone.

Gill said he visits Duboce Park once or twice a week, so keep an eye out for him! He also does guitar lessons and encouraged us to post his phone number for parents of aspiring rock stars to give him a call: 415.621.5794.
