When Hunter S. Thompson ran for Sheriff of Aspen County back in 1970 on the Freak Party ticket, part of his platform included instituting stockades for dishonest drug dealers. More of hims platform from Wikipedia: "decriminalization of drugs (for personal use only, not trafficking, as he disapproved of profiteering), tearing up the streets and turning them into grassy pedestrian malls, banning any building so tall as to obscure the view of the mountains, and renaming Aspen, Colorado, "Fat City." (to reduce the marketing appeal of the name "Aspen.") Thompson, having shaved his head, referred to his opponent as "my long-haired opponent", as the incumbent Republican had a crew cut." Hunter almost won.

Isn't it about time that Kamala Harris and Heather Fong crack down on these scam artists? Look at all the poor junkies who are getting ripped off and no one to protect them. Can't Chris Daly do something? Maybe some new City legislation entitled the San Francisco Fair Trade Cocaine Act?
