Happy PAWSiversary!

pawsbirthday.jpg
PAWS (Pets Are Wonderful Support) is celebrating its china anniversary this year, with a celebration on Saturday at AT&T Park before the 1p.m. game. It’s hard to believe that this organization, which provides numerous services to low-income San Franciscans’ with HIV/AIDS and other disabling illnesses, has been around for 20 whole years.

PAWS staff and volunteers do lots of stuff to help people keep and care for their adored pets. There’s dog walking, cat care, a food bank, help with vet bills, advocacy, and lots more.

In fact, volunteering for PAWS is a great way to get in some weekly animal time without having to own a pet or rent one. Yes, we said rent one. Crazy, no?

If you can’t make it to the pre-game celebration tomorrow, which will be happening between 10a.m. and 1p.m. (We hear there’s going to be cake!), PAWS is also having a 20th Anniversary Celebration in October 17 called "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow," which is sure to be as fun as rolling around in catnip or licking the face of someone you love.

Happy Anniversary, PAWS!
