SFist Photo: The Unhappy Sharks of San Francisco
This is no regular fish - it's a genuine San Francisco shark that was just caught on a line by an angler.

We've never seen a shark on a sidewalk before but that was the scene a few days ago in the Lower Third right next to MUNI’s new T-Line. Leopard sharks in San Francisco Bay/Estuary enjoy a bit of protection from fisherpeople. Despite this, there are those who target these critters not for catch and release but rather more of a Roger & Me pets OR meat kind of deal. Recently, things got so out of hand that the feds came in to mete out a little justice to those affiliated with Sun Myung Moon’s Unification Church. The EBX told the story and consequently won plaudits last year. Too bad this particular little pup never grew up big enough to have pups of its own.
[Update: Errors were made in todays HTML coding. Fixed. Also, we didn't mention the relationship between the illegal fishing of these cute sharks and the fish supplier to your favorite local sushi house cuz the relationship seems tenous but, as always, YMTC. Thanks.]

Soooo... what WAS the shark doing on the sidewalk? Was that tidbit buried in the links somewhere?
There's no way to tell. Half of the hyperlinks are busted.
Thanks for updating the links. I STILL don't know what the shark is doing on the sidewalk. Do I have to visit 5 other websites to find out? What is this, Metafilter? WHY IS THE DAMN SHARK LYING ON THE SIDEWALK?
Honestly, what the hell is the story? There is a SHARK on the SIDEWALK. Please explain.
That shark is on the goddamned sidewalk! WHY?! I must know!
Update: No one still knows what you are talking about and your links still do not work. I like the picture though.
