How's Carole Migden's Driving?: Charges Filed

%257BD8F329FC-734B-4A1F-83F6-DFE70641F562%257D_Web.jpgWe can't really get ourselves too worked up about the billboards or campaign finance allegations that Mark Leno's tossing around about his rival for the State Senate seat, Carole Migden (sorry) -- but we certainly do pay attention to her reckless-driving woes! The Solano County DA has decided to charge Migden with a misdemeanor based on her wild lane-changing and fender-bending ways from earlier this year. Like Paris Hilton, only without the DUI or the wonky eye!

Misdemeanor reckless driving has a max penalty of 6 months in jail or a fine of $1000, but she'll probably end up with a fine, two points on her record, and probation for three years.

While we're on the topic, we'll also pass along the word we heard that Carole Migden arrived late to a rally yesterday, and double-parked her SUV right next to the truck on which everyone was speaking. We asked repeatedly if there were any squealing tires or fishtailing of the back fender, but our source didn't notice. [Update!: We've since learned that Migden wasn't driving the SUV, and there was an SFPD cruiser double-parked in the same lane. We kind of love Carole Migden.]

I thought I read that she was giving up driving an automobile--or was that "just until somebody notices..."
Methinks she's rapidly driving herself into oblivion.

Hi Guest[1]: Ha! Good memory! I got word passed along that Migden was in fact not driving, and put it up in the body of the text.

Couldn't the driver just have dropped Carole off at the truck and then put the car someplace legal? This all relates to Aaron Peskin's parking proposals somehow, doesn't it?

So who is driving for Carol now? Lindsay Lohan? Paris Hilton? Or did Ed Jew let her borrow his taxi medallion?
