(not to mention the obvious resist / obey parody, which pretty much spells it out)

come on.

Could the Resist Meth campaign rip off Shepard Fairey's signature style any more?

From the article:
"Better World drew on the revolutionary and wartime mobilization posters of the 20th century as inspiration for the campaign, said Leonard."

Right. And drawing on those historical references just happened to produce exactly the same letterforms and imagery that a very well-known designer and artist is known for. All treated exactly the same way as he does. Except kind-of half assed.

I realize that Fairey's style has strong roots in Russian Constructivism, among other things, but he's definitely made his own refinements to it. The posters (and sidewalk stencils!) are not borrowing from history, but stealing from the present.

What an extraordinarily cheesy, chickenshit move for Better World to not acknowledge the real source of their "inspiration".

Meth is hitting a HIGH plateau? Was that an intentional pun on the part of the author?

The meth & sex connection is too strong for many to resist, so this problem will never go away.

Meth is the drug that releases the highest surge of dopamine of any street drug, period.

Dopamine is the neuro-transmitter in the brain that controls pleasure feelings.
Meth sends dopamine levels up 1200% or so. As a comparison, heroin increases dopamine to about 350% of normal.

People who smoke or shoot meth get this instant lustorama intense rush for sex which in itself becomes an addiction for many.

A very nasty drug to avoid at all costs.

Ahimsa's campaign's been largely overlooked...she's a physician, the Health and Environmental Science Editor for the Bay View Newspaper, and a small business owner in West Portal.

She's been active in SF politics for years (as in issues, not so much schmoozing with office-holders), but the candidates with animal names have been getting more coverage -- entertaining, but not much more goin on than name recognition.

Go Ahimsa!

C. Nelson. Mission. Not approved by campaign either.

DALY OUT. AHIMSA FOR MAYOR.

Now that the last Great White Male Hope has left the field of battle to fight another day (thanks Chris), I hope the progressive establishment in this city can finally acknowledge and respect that

Patrick Monk.RN. Noe Valley.
