Mary Spicuzza's got it that "Supervisor Chris Daly picked up his mayoral nomination papers late yesterday afternoon."
Now all he has to do is get some signatures, cough up a $3,776 filing fee, and fill out some more paperwork. Then, SF media has fodder to last us until God knows when. Thanks, Chris!
Also, Spicuzza goes on to say that as of "Thursday at about noon, only four of the 31 candidates have actually filed all of their required paperwork." Which? Is awesome. We like to think that this city is still full of mellow, procrastinating slackers, and not just a bunch of brittle party-crappers, killing the Castro by making it a safer place from a bunch of hoodlums.

I like you a lot Chris but please don't run for mayor. Convince a progressive with less baggage to run instead. However invented your baggage may be, you still won't play well outside of Folsom and the Mission. If you do end up running, you'll get crushed by the Gavin politico-spin-machine and it will just make the progressives look bad.
If Chris wins, does that mean all of the condos from here on out will be "low income"? Not that anyone can afford even the BMR versions.
Also, does that mean free Muni? You know, stop charging for a system and not make up the 26% loss in funding?
Will the TL become entirely owned by the TL housing clinic, and SoMA entirely owned by the Gap?
Why in the world would anyone want Chris Daly to run for mayor? There isn't a chance in hell he'd ever get elected.
Then again, perhaps this is what need to crush the so-called "progressive" movement once and for all. Once voters see what kind of standard-bearer Chris Daly is for the "progressives," they'll understand why this group is so harmful to the city.
The only interesting thing if Daly joins the race would be seeing whether Daly manages to break double digits in the percentage of votes received.

Instead of traditional debates, can't we have Newsom and Daly follow the Miss America pageant format?
You know, talent contest and most importantly a swimsuit contest. They have to be in Speedos for full effect. None of those baggy hide it all boxer type suits.
