More Daylight Shootings

kllysbbq.jpg

Yes indeed, there was another one: yesterday in the early afternoon at Div and Grove. A reader passes along these pictures and reports that no one seemed to have been injured from the rapid-fire shots heard on the scene.

Thanks for sending in the tip, reader recyclemysoul (and we're glad you weren't hit by any of the gunfire if you were that close to the scene.) Send more pictures of brazen lawlessness in our fair city to SFist, for the growing crime log monitor.

Wow, I used to live a block from there. That BBQ place is damn good. Or at least it was when it was "Brother in Laws."

Quick, dispatch a graffiti clean-up crew to the area!

Bring on the security cameras. No fucking excuses for this shit.

I drove by this scene yesterday. It appears that no one was hurt this time. During the day, it's a relatively safe place to be usually. Scary.

Hey, what happened to Brother-in-Law's?

When did that ugly pepsi sign go in?

I hope they lock someone up this time. It is really ridiculous.

"Hey, what happened to Brother-in-Law's?

[5]"

It became "Lilly's" a couple of years ago. The business was hardly ever open. I heard that the old owner started to get involved again and lately the food and hours are basically the same as it used to be.

That Pepsi sign has been there for at least 10 years.

Right behind the restaurant is a pot club so you have to wonder.

Drive-by happens and people want some BBQ. Yeah for laid-back San Franciscans! Bring on the murder 'cause I'm hungry for chicken and ribs.

Pot Club and BBQ..nice combo! I wouldn't blame the potheads for the shooting, motivation isn't their strong point.

people do die in the western addition. it makes no difference if you try to change the name to nopa, gentrification is no solution to the reality of violence and poverty in our lovely city. lo

Guest #9, BASA is an ideal neighbor and you're free to wonder all you want, but really you're just sadly uninformed. Way to go.

The pot club there has had trouble in the past.
(Happy Days or whatever it's called)

No speculation necessary, #13, who are you posting for anyway?

To think I naively ate there before a Sloan show at The Independent not too long ago .... they didn't quite cook the ribs, that shouldn't have been my clue.

Number [14], Happy Days is a block away. BASA, the pot club by the BBQ place, is not affiliated.

This shooting and the stop in front of the YELP offices on m ission yesterday were related. There were no arrests because the witness who saw the shooter get inot the car and who gave the plate did not want to id the suspect or talk to the police any further. Makes you wonder why they called in the first place.

That area has been one step away from a gun battle for a while. Wasn't there another shooting there less than a month ago? I live a few blocks away and now I rarely venture up that way... too many hoodlums. Stopped going to Eddie's too, for the same reason. Got tired of hearing goons talk about bringing guns to parties - doesn't make your breakfast go down well. I've been openly hassled by teen thugs there, well, it happened once... and once was enough! "Yes, I'll have the ham and eggs and can I have a side of bullsh*t ghetto attitude with that?" Pathetic.

Isn't there like, what, 5 pot clubs in a 4 block radius? How many f*cking pot clubs do you need??? That should be a pretty good indicator that the pot situation in SF is NOT about helping sick people!

"Stopped going to Eddie's too..." Not just Eddie's, but Fly, Abir, Little Star, Pet Haven, and that nice Korean man on the corner. I'm never going to any of them ever again, sadly; and I'm ashamed to say I've started driving a car just to buy food at the supermarket five blocks away. But there's no other way to manage personal risk in this neighborhood. (And why is it statistically safer *at night* these days?)

A young man/teenager was shot in his ass and got himself to the hospital as a result of this 1 pm shooting.

The Grove and Divisadero corner near the parking lot is a serious problem.

There have been at least four major shootings within one block from this corner within the past 1.5 months, including the one where a random driver was shot in the head while waiting at the intersection of Fulton and Divisadero.

The police need to station a fixed patrol car on the corner of Grove and Divisadero.

There's a citywide crisis in violent crime and homicide. The Chief of Police needs to be fired. The Mayor and DA need to be held accountable.

And people responsible for public safety should stop making excuses.

#16, who phoned in the nitpicking squad...

How many f**king pot clubs does SF need????
