Bonds never knowingly used steroids. Extremely unlikely, but it's obvious how he would have been treated unfairly in this scenario. 2. Bonds knowingly used steroids. This is the most likely scenario, but he's still received far more criticism than all other players who did exactly the same thing but happen to be not as good as Bonds, more "likeable", or - and I have to say it - white.
