I see two possible scenarios, and Barry has been treated unfairly in both of them as the punching bag for steroids outrage.
1. Bonds never knowingly used steroids. Extremely unlikely, but it's obvious how he would have been treated unfairly in this scenario.
2. Bonds knowingly used steroids. This is the most likely scenario, but he's still received far more criticism than all other players who did exactly the same thing but happen to be not as good as Bonds, more "likeable", or - and I have to say it - white.
I love the irony that the guy who pitched #755 tested positive for steroids a couple years ago.

With all the scrutiny, surely he's clean - and still he hits home runs. Explain naysayers. He's an exceptional athlete whether you care or not.
