Your Black Muslim Bakery Raided

As already mentioned in Blotter's comments and in our tips section, Your Black Muslim Bakery on San Pablo Avenue (hot fish sandwiches -- mmm) was raided this morning, resulting in the arrests of over a dozen people. Police, bomb units, and SWAT teams came down on the bakery and several other "related locations" in North Oakland and Emeryville at 5 a.m. (Read Chron's article about it here, Examiner's here.)

Police claim that this was all part of a yearlong investigation. This morning's raid also comes on the heels of yesterday's slaying of Oakland Post editor and former Oakland Tribune reporter Chauncey Bailey, who it seems "was investigating the bakery and its related businesses" just before he was killed.

Hmmm.

I mentioned it on the comments as soon as I heard about the execution style killing

I said Nation of Islam and but this is the group I meant. They seem to be the only really organized criminal group in Oakland

They blocked San Pablo in both directions for this raid (forcing buses onto random side streets)

This better not mean I won't be able to get one of their tasty fish or tofu sandwiches, or amazing baked goods.

There used to be a location downtown, not to far from the killing.

Are white people or even non-black Muslims allowed to eat their bakery products? Do they have an armed guard at the door to keep whitey out?

Also, fish have eyes and feelings too. Stop eatin' 'em please.

WOW!

BREAKING NEWS: Black Muslim bakery linked to Bailey ambush killing

Inside Bay Area
Article Last Updated:08/03/2007 03:49:02 PM PDT

Evidence recovered during the police raid at Your Black Muslim Bakery Friday morning links members of the organization to the ambush killing of Oakland Post Editor Chauncey Bailey, authorities said.

Officials would not say what the evidence is, but sources told the Oakland Tribune that it was a shotgun seized at the bakery that was used to kill Bailey, 57, Thursday morning in downtown Oakland.

They also serve tasty tofu sandwiches and (possibly vegan) baked goods.

Anyone can go in there and buy their food items.

.... oh, and this quote from SFGATE helps to explain all the gunfire we've been hearing in the neighborhood over the past few months..
(the gunshots sounded like they were coming from over by the bakery..)

"Oakland police believe members of the Your Black Muslim Bakery were involved in "cleansing'' the area surrounding its business of undesirables, possibly including two men shot and killed last month.

Police raided the business and seized weapons, including a shotgun and automatic weapon, authorities believe had been used in the string of attacks. After today's raid, Alameda County health inspectors shut down the bakery today after finding health-code violations, authorities said.

In recent weeks, authorities said, there have been a number of killings in North Oakland near the bakery.

Police said they believed the killings of Michael John Wills Jr., 36, of Oakland, and Odell Roberson Jr., 31, were related, as apparently a similar weapon was used in both of them. The proximity of the two slayings and the circumstances "immediately raised red flags," Joyner said. "

ohhh! THE CAPPER!

[7] Oh Jesus, I hope the crunchy muffins I've been buying from them don't have ground up bones in them.

Well... they are all natural..

ooh. here's the latest quote from the Oakland Tribune..

"During the raid, authorities also uncovered conditions so unsanitary that the Alameda County Health Department has closed down the bakery.

Police also found filth and waste _ including dead rats on the roof and rat droppings in the bakery _ they believe were leaking into drainage lines, prompting them to call in Vector Control, the city's code compliance unit, State Fish and Game and the Alameda County District Attorney's environmental crimes unit. Fines for such violations can be up to $5,000 "

This seems to be the standard operating procedure for Islam in general. Intimidate, threaten violence, or perpetrate actual violence against anyone who disagrees with you. Whether it's Salmon Rushdie in England, Theo Van Gogh in the Netherlands, or Chauncey Bailey right here in Oakland. Everyone (including me) is scared to criticism them in the light of day, so in a sense I guess their tactics are effective. Still, this is an overall evil religion.

Perhaps if you actually read more, you'd have seen that this group is NOT associated with The Nation of Islam. It is not the religion that is evil, but the evil people who pervert it, as in ALL religions. Christianity is SUPPOSEDLY about love and caring about your neighbor, but that is usually not a factor when they commit genocide or slavery or bombing abortion clinics or starting wars that kill thousands upon thousands of innocent people does it? I thought the FIRST commandment is Thou shalt not KILL. Does that make ALL Christians evil? NO! [and I am not Christian] Knee jerk comments like yours only show ignorance and bigotry. Try a little critical thinking before you speak or act or vote, please.

ah-LAH be praised! Even with a bow-tie a thug is a thug.

Cool. Now I can open up my place called the Extreme Radical Terrorist Muslim Chicken Joint
