Actually the SNA Bylaws say:
"ARTICLE II (Membership)
"Section 1
"Membership shall be open to Sunnyside neighborhood residents, property owners and business proprietors; non-voting memberships shall be open to other interested parties."

##########
That is pretty standard language for a Neighborhood Org's Bylaws.

As HappyChandler points out, the reason for the POBox is obvious.

##########
The bit about the trash cans is from the SNA newsletter in which it quotes City Code about the subject, most likely because an SNA member asked about it.

For the record, their newsletter also helpfully guides you through the Residential Parking Permit process, the SFPD's Crime Mapping website, a few choice bits of info re SFPD, and bulky item removal.

All of which are common neighborhood issues.

"Out of sight," please. Keeping garbage cans out of "site" is just too much trouble.

[6] Probably because I am not a member of the SNA. But, I should be (seriously, mariconsoy has a point).

Luckily, for those of you who do not live in Sunnyside, but care about it so, the SNA says, "No matter where you live in San Francisco, you are welcome to review this website and join the SNA."

They probably use a PO box so that when officers for the association change, they don't have to update the address, etc. Just hand over the key to the box.

The SNA should forget the trash cans and focus on Tony, the creepy neighborhood gardener-stalker.

p.s. PO Boxes are so community-oriented I feel all fuzzy just thinking about them

Dearest Brock,

What IS your fixation about garbage cans being left out on the Sunnyside sidewalks?

The neighborhood association is not there to call 911 if you leave your sludge can out, but rather to work as a group to make the area safer and nicer and to stand up to city hall when necessary.

Are you a member or do you let others do the neighborhood's community service work?

SNA Membership is $15 per household.
Vendor Membership is $25 per business.
Mail membership dues to:
SNA P.O. Box 2765
San Francisco, CA 94127

DISCLAIMER I am not a part of SNA since I don't live there.
