This is an event created by Improv Everywhere, an NYC based Improv group that creates absurd public scenes. It's supposed to be funny and weird, not serious, and it's definitley not a marketing ploy. Check out the rest of their stuff at http://www.improveverywhere.com/- it's pretty great. The Best Buy Mission is classic.

though i appreciate sfist bringing me something i wouldn't have otherwise seen: ick. this could have been funny if how blatantly contrived it was didn't become obvious by the first 5 seconds. the remaining 3:50 of the video shoves the joke ('umm yah teh wendy isnt a fair representation of us') in your eye 46 more times.. "yaay we're two off-the-wall comedy crew dudes with a heap of redhaired people and a wacky take on inequality.." gag..

If Wendy's isn't going to have the balls to (re)open a restaurant here in SF, the least they could do is provide a shuttle to the nearest one in Oakland. Damnit, I want a Baconator, too. (and btw, the boyfriend and i totally love that bacaonator commercial)
