Since they only seem to care about their bottom line profits, I wonder why they just aren't shutting down domestically and offshoring to the Philippines or India.

Don't give them any ideas!

I wonder if Sup Daly knows about this latest twist with Field? Last year he sponsored a resolution to condemn Field's strong srm tactics against their workforce.

Congrat to San Diego!

P.S. 37.5 hours per week IS full time under CA law. Its 40 hours per week, less 0.5 hour mandatory lunch break.

Sounds like Field Research are pulling a Fly-By-Night (sorry RUSH) on the expense of many workers, all in the name of their greedy little fuck pockets!

Joe, my friend, if you follow the link you'll see it's a bit of joke; just referring to an old story we ran that blew up a few months back.

In fact . . . perhaps it's San Diego's far superior burritos that are driving the firm's move south. Hmmm.

not exactly on topic, but i strongly disagree with the burrito jab at san diego. the best burrito's i've ever had have been in escondido(san diego county). the emphasis is put on filling it with quality meat, not filling it with 70% rice/beans.

Ugh Field Research's corporate leadership sucks fat donkey balls. Although they provide a good product to various clients like the SF Chronicle, the LA Times, etc., they don't have a shred of compassion for their workers who bust their asses day in and day out. Field Research workers are getting 2-weeks notice that they have been laid off. Not only that, but they also limit their "full time" employees to 37.5 hrs/week, so they wont have to provide them with health care.

Good riddance Field Research!
