SFist Blotter

20070724_inq_bford24-a.jpgWell, just to follow up on yesterday's day of violence, we can't find anything about the late-afternoon incident on Ellis Street that a couple of you guys saw, but there was another shooting around 11:50 p.m. in Visitacion Valley. That one was fatal. (The Examiner also has a list of other recent daytime shootings in SF, if you're interested.)

Phew, let's get to the less life-endangering stuff. Politicians! Matt Gonzalez's 2003 mayoral campaign team was fined $3300 for failing to provide donor information to the Ethics Commission (they said it was a PayPal mixup); an Oakland school board member is being investigated for allegations that sound like he accidentally got in a little over his head with a teen he was mentoring who now says she loves him; and there was a loud argument at the Berkeley City Council where one board member says the mayor always talks over her. Come over and check things out in SF, Berkeley lady!

And that NBA ref who's under investigation for betting on games he was officiating? He was the ref in the crucial Golden State-Mavericks Game 3 from earlier this year.

Sfgate now mentions the shooting on Ellis street. One man died, and another man was wounded.

Riding the 31AX down Geary around 4:30pm or so, noticed police car at 3rd and Anza and another at 4th and Anza, it appears they had the road closed off. Any idea what happened there?

Thanks!

i saw the scene around then as well, while on my bike, and it looked just like a traffic accident. they were towing a smashed up car, and there was car-glass everywhere.

i live in that block. a mustang apparently flipped itself over and landed right side up in the middle of the street. no other cars were involved in the accident. i have no idea how it happened i just heard screeching and glass breaking.
