Oh and one more point. Even if the hunters are killing endangered species, surely goals are more imortant than animals. I would rather watch a goal being scored than a duck-billed platypus scratching his balls (do they even have any?). Goals are priceless, animals are frickin' everywhere. Look there's one now.

Yeah, but they have babies called "Joeys". "Vegetarians International Voice for Animals" doesn't seem to make grammatical sense though. Shouldn't Vegetarians be posessive? That's the only way I can make it work. Sorry to trivialize your important organization, but your stance is a bit retarded, don't you think? Besides, kangaroo shoes make you jump higher, surely?

Couldn't we shoot VIVA members and feed them to the kangaroos?

this is BS. kangaroos are commercially farmed, free-range, in australia. there is some evidence of wild 'roos getting thrown in the mix, but this isn't the big problem it was 20 or 30 years ago.

the 'roo skin used for the shoes, if they're made in aussieland, probably comes from the 'roos raised for meat - which, by the way, is frickin deee-lish.

There are some parts of Australia that have too many kangaroos and I've heard they've been trying to figure out ways to cull the herd (or "mob", I guess that is Aussie-slang for herd).

I've also seen news stories on Australians trying to learn how to eat Kangaroo meat, which VIVA is also protesting.

The whole thing seems to remind me of the problem some U.S. states have with managing deer herds (the populations can get so large that they have trouble finding food, so some of these animals essentially starve to death).

"VIVA" not "Viva".

I'm generally all for aggressive environmentally-based regulation and law but what endangered animals, pray tell, are mistaken for kangaroos? Kangaroos are pretty conspicuously kangaroo-like.

Are wallabees endangered? Aren't wallabees tiny? I guess these hunters might be mistaking wallabees for baby kangaroos. But they shouldn't be shooting babies anyway.

If these hunters are shooting polar bears or siberian tigers or beluga whales, they're probably on the wrong continent. And retarded.
