Hot Stuff: Food Blog Round Up

Think you can't cook? Have a slew of reasons why not? There's hope. Find out how and why one 60-year old Brit took inspiration from 101 Cookbooks to make dishes like creme brulee, corned beef hash, and Stilton pancetta chicken. It's never too late to learn, kiddoodles!

Get buttered and floured (her term, and it totally makes us tingle!) over at alpineberry. Bing and Rainier cherries. Frangipane. Puff pastry. Yumminess. If it's an organizational push you need, get made over and organized with The Food Diva. It looks good, doesn't it?

Onto more looking good. Wanna be food photogs and Ratatouille afficionados alike should pull up a chair and read Sam from Becks & Posh's 2 part interview with white-truffle lovin' Sharon Calahan, who was the DP (Director of Photography) on the film.

While we love the Alemany Farmer's Market for its diverse produce & crowds, low prices, flowers, and more, our constant companion loathes the parking insanity and crowds. The early-ish wake up time doesn't help either. Perhaps reading Cook Here and Now's Alemany write up would clear up his grumpiness? What's not to love about pics of Armenian cucumbers and fresh, unpeeled walnuts for nocino (liquor) making? Onto a blog called Cucumber, which appears to be from or connected to eggbeater/Uber Baker Shuna. Few other food blogs have apt categories like injury, saute and violence the way cucumber does, harrumph. The cucumber post that grabbed our attention puts forth many questions about what drives a professional cook: "What else pushes the individual to stay in an environment that can be damning and cruel.... was it the only place they could hide?" Been there, done that. Aw man, now we're only left with more cook and restaurant scene questions!
