SFist Tonight

loveis.jpg
-- Sweetie and Love is Chemicals (image to the left): Hear rock and melodic ditties in the Mission with these two “sugary, pop” outfits. Show starts at 10 p.m. at the Knockout, 3223 Mission; $10

-- Bad Boys of Summer: It's like Oz meets Field of Dreams, or something like that. Catch this documentary about San Quentin convicts playing baseball. Film starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Screening Room, 701 Mission.

-- "Pervert": The Endup premieres this dewy fresh new club night featuring the aural stylings of the brilliant DJ Derek B, spinning electro-house to dance-rock. Drag artists Glamamore, Hoku Mama, and Toeknee will also perform. The beats start at 10 p.m. at the Endup, 401 Sixth St.

-- The Namesake : In case you missed it while it was in the theaters, this adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning (oh la la!) book of the same name is gooood. Plus, it has Kal Penn in it -- that guy from Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle -- so there's even more reason to catch it while you can. 8 p.m. at the Red Vic, 1727 Haight.

Not THE Derek B? As in, "Is he a Yankee? No I'm a Londoner" fame. I'll go see that "Bad Young Brother".
