Guest #23: It doesn't say Gmzeeo, it says Amaze. Amaze is spelled just how I and the artist wrote it. Gmzeeo was a pathetic attempt by someone who couldn't read graffiti. I don't know if it was Brock or someone before him, but that's what led to the confusion in the first place.

I'm not saying Amaze is an amazing artist (no pun intended), I'm just saying, if your going to hate something, at least know what it is your hating. Instead, all of you in "anti-Gmzeeo" camp sound like my grandfather. Not to mention the artist was commissioned by the store owner to do this.

Maybe, Seamus Furr, the store owner chose to display some art to his liking on his store front, and didn't care what Upper Haight yuppies thought? And how does one choose to be lucky sperm? What the hell is that supposed to mean anyway? They chose to be uptight cunts? God Bless America.

Let's face it, graffiti-as-Art peaked with Keith Haring in the mid-Eighties. It's worth about a page in your typical 1200-page art survey text (Hartt, Gardner, Janson and ilk).

Gmzeeo cannot spell. What sort of word is gmzeeo anyways. It is a nonsense phrase (with a fart) from a nonsensical artist. I'm down with yr dada, especially if it is all legal. I'm not down with graffiti wanksters of the gmzeeo / ribbity ilk.

What sort of anonymous idiot tells someone to stay away from their neighborhood, then tells you where they live? And what sort of dumbass actually believes that anonymous idiot? The idiots have won.

I do like the sexy asshole asterisk that gmzeeo puts in his g.

I'm with you guest 21. Graffiti was Art about 30 years ago. Honestly, anyone could do that AMAZE shit.

I used to live across the street from that site, and I always wondered why the Gap maintained that location as long as they did.

Van, these days most people in the Marina AND in the Upper Haight are not mere lucky/unlucky sperm -- they chose to be that way.

[20] Van is probably British, or a big fan of British media.

Second, that graffiti stuff really is lower case 'a' art. It's up there with some of the garbage you'll find at the DeYoung (one of the shittiest modern lower case 'a' art museums I've ever seen.)

"stay out of my neighborhood (I live in the marina)"... that's just asking for it. Van is right, you're a twat. (First time I've seen that term outside of Huster magazine...)

Then again, comment #15 is irrelevant to begin with, seeing as it's been determined that the building owner hired Amaze to do the piece. Still waiting for SFist to publish a correction to the original, incorrect story.

Brock should man up and stop pretending that he didn't get this story totally wrong the first time. Doesn't your About Us page say something about ethical standards??

Journalism, people.

Damn, guest number 15. The merits of street art may be debatable, but equally horrible is your grammar. At least this Amaze fellow can spell.

And I don't think you need to worry about trendy, urban artists venturing into your sacred Marina. Putting up with snobby assholes would be self-induced punishment for any of us not part of the lucky sperm club, you twat.

Gmzeeo and Ribbity should tag each others work. That way they could contain their output to a few locations. That would be great because I could avoid those locations cuz that shit be so awful. Dudes youse are like so postmodern with your lawbreaky escapades! I've never seen spraypaint artwork before. That graffiti tagging - who'd a figger that the kids would take it so far?

I think that the real thing to do would be to use a justin.tv thang and tag yourselves in tattoo workings. That way everyone and no one could simultaneously see your work. It'd be so far out that even the sfist chimps would understand your genius! Good luck with the inkings, fuckers... and stay out of my neighborhood (I live in the marina).

Doood! That sucks! I love that little chicken head! Good thing we have so many photos of Gmzeeo's cool art to remember it by.

That reminds me -- whatever happened to RIBBITY? I love ribbity; those little frogs are even cooler than Gmzeeo's chicken heads (sorry Gmzeeo). I mean, I know of a couple ribbity-frogs in my 'hood to enjoy, but have there been any new ones lately? Ribbity, where did you go?

Graffiti "artists" are sooooo weak...

Unimaginative and self-centered.

"AMAZE?" You've got 1000 square feet of canvas, and all you can come up with is "Amaze?"

It should have said "LAME" and you would have saved $50 in paint.

Did someone go around peeing in cheerios this morning? It blows because Gmzeeo's tag was cool, and now it's gone even though rvca isn't open yet. The paint is gone from the windows, but it remains on the remainder of the facade. You can't see the chicken at all! :)

It blows because Brock is trying to impress us with how hip/avant-garde he is. Because he is a voice for the little guy. Because SFist has now become his personal political platform.

That's what blows.

A temporary art piece is being removed, probably after another hundred tags were put on it and the owner lacks the funds to comply with the city's graffiti laws, this blows?

No what blows is the permanent mural on the corner of Scott and Haight destroyed by taggers. I never cared all that much mural itself, but it is an example why land owners don't put up murals anymore.
