In Living Color
The on-again-off-again proposal by the Wayans Brothers to build some sort of Wayans World at the site of the Oakland Army Base is back on as an Oakland City Council committee voted to allow negotiations to begin anew. A proposal was introduced awhile ago but fell through when the Wayans brothers were unable to come up with anything in the way of a plan.
The proposal calls for the building of a business park, retail stores, luxury hotel, and a movie/TV production studio. The idea of a theme park has been shelved which, sadly, takes away all of our jokes (like the "Homey the Clown's Wild Ride" or "It's a White Chick's World After All" and "Fly Girls Restaurant"-- which would be kind of like Hooters except with more emphasis on the booty and with waitresses who occasionally stop what they're doing and perform the running man dance move). The Wayans have four months for them and their partners, the Pacifica Capital Group, to come up with something. If any of the benchmarks are not made, the deal could fall through.
