Dalla Torre, at the foot of the Filbert Steps (foot of the Filbert Steps at upper Montgomery) is not only "shuttered" but is in the process of being converted to a single family home. When the Torre was the restaurant known as The Shadows, it was the restaurant of choice for Bogey and Bacall while Bogey was filming DARK PASSAGE. -- Sal

Dark Passage - noir movie with Bogey & Bacall- was on set here in the art deco building with the distinctive glass bricks. If you're facing away from Julius' Castle, it will be on your left, right after the steps and near the stairs entrance.

Hmmm... you didn't happen to see the movie "You Kill Me" recently, did ya? they filmed a scene up there.
