SFist Blotter

stanfordshoppingctr.jpgSF shootings: two shot, one dead, in the Bayview Monday afternoon (the resulting scene then blocked the T-Third for an hour), another shooting in Oceanview, and a man shot in a drive-by at 21st and Florida on Friday night.

Dang! A huge fight on Durant Avenue by Telegraph in Berkeley Sunday night -- around 50 people were involved and they had to close off the area for an hour. A 14-year-old was sent to the hospital.

And two masked men robbed the Tiffany's in the Stanford Shopping Center last Saturday. They walked in, told 15 customers and 12 employees to get on the floor, smashed a display case with a hammer, and ran off to their getaway car, which was last seen speeding down Sand Hill. The car was stolen earlier in the week from Fremont.

I'm surprised the goons got away after robbing Tiffanys. There's no mentions of guns or weapons, and the stores always have football player sized security guards at the front door and stationed around. Don't they have panic buttons placed around the store that can be discretely pushed to alert the cops?

The Oceanview shooting was only about a half mile from where I live. Scary.

Y'know, Newsom said he would sign the petition for his own recall if the murder rate went up during his time as mayor. We should try to hold him to that promise.
