Dear rita: You might want to make that warning about the video at SFWillie's blog a little more pronounced. When the guy takes his nose out of his face, I just about lost it. Beware.

Leigh Wolf, one of the token SFSU college republicans is perhaps the biggest asshat I've ever met. The boy shuns any manner of intelligent discourse. But he's good for sound bites like: "end the commie occupation of SFSU"

Thomas Hawk got assaulted? Again? That blog entry you linked to is over a year old....

Wow... no safe levels of asbestos indeed.

Who is this Kimo person - I hope he has to pay for the man hours he's soaking up at City Hall.

Yipes! shows what happens when I rely on the SFist tips column. Uh.... that was for Day Around The Bay last year! Good catch, guest!

Maybe Kimo wouldn't be soaking up so many man hours at City Hall if officials would stop fighting him every step of the way. What is it about open and transparent government that frightens so many people?

Let's ask this .. why would Sprint cancel the contracts on 1000 customers who keep calling their customer service number with the same issue?

Why do they charge tolls for crossing bridges? Pay for use ... if this Kimo guy is using up City Hall's time quite beyond what most citizens do, he should be paying for this use of OUR employees that WE all pay for.

Afraid of transparency? puhleeze... go to China for awhile and tell me about it.

#9, why would we "go to China for awhile"? How would that make us understand why City officials refuse to comply with open government rules made in the United States? Do you support unaccountable governments?

#6, even. I'm not understanding the logic here. His requests wouldn't be a resource drain if the City actually complied with it, instead of dragging its feet and whining that it has to comply with laws.

No, have you seen his requests? They are a resource drain period. I have to delete 5-10 of them A DAY from my inbox (somehow I got on the cc list).

Driving my car everywhere wouldn't be a resource drain if only there were more parking spaces...

hmmm.... there's similar logic.

#10, how does having more parking spaces end up as somehow similar to City officials dragging their feet instead of complying with his initial requests?

Oh. My. God.

Beware the SFWillie video.

Dragging feet on a NORMAL quantity is a legitimate ding on the City. However, my understanding is that this Kimo person went up to the troff and won't back away from the troff ... instead of eating one or two hot dogs, he's eating 47 at a time .... he can eat 47 at a time as far as I am concerned as long as he is paying for that unusually high quantity out of his own pocket.

I don't expect people in San Francisco to be conscientious of their effects on others ... this is the City of Peter Pans where folks throw fireworks into crowds with blatant disregard for others' safey, this is the City where drugs are okay .. even if they do melt away your brain cells until you become just another mental case roaming the streets and pissing in doorways and needing money/services from the rest of us to keep you alive, this is the City where the cops are the enemies and folks don't seem to "get it" that the City government is THEIR employee, so-to-speak, and can only exist with OUR resources paying for their services .. thereby, this guy soaking up time for meaningless (obsessive?) bologna is costing us all as a community.

Short-sighted and selfish Kimo.

Just thinking about this Kimo guy, I wonder, how many other citizens are bugging the hell out of our city government?

Here's a couple of annoying people, the old lady and guy that are at every legislative meeting and hearings (examples: Board of Supervisors, Ethics Commission, etc.). Whenever there is a chance to leave "public comment" they always go up to the microphone make worthless comments, and waste REAL people's time to give their true feelings on issues.

And just to give you and idea of how annoying that old lady and guy is, they always sit in the front row of every meeting.

I went to a meeting in regards to a major marathon that passed through my neighborhood and with the event happening on all four sides, it was a virtual prison because the stupid cops and event organizers were not letting cars in or out. When it was time for public comment, the first person that went up was that annoying old lady, and I was pissed because her comments were not talking about the problems with the event and they were WORTHLESS. I got a chance to speak and talk about the legitimate issues, but I almost felt like I wanted to yell at the lady to sit down and shut up.

Akit- are you talking about Sylvia Johnson? I cry laughing every time she steps up to the mic. Crazy has a name, and it is Sylvia Johnson.

And guest 13, if you referring to the box-like drinking vessel for farm animals it is spelled trough, not troff. But I agree with your comments- Kimo sux.

#13: My understanding is that the City has announced it will give his equal requests the same amount of time as any other requests made to public information officers, so that should solve the issue. However, I can't help but think what truly irritates some of the granite statues in our local government is that he's asking "too many questions," as in how dare a mere citizen think he have the right to be deeply involved with his government. And that attitude and the support shown for it is deeply disturbing on so many levels.

#15, youare so right! Sylvia Johnson (bless her heart), the guy who is mad about library funding, and free-form poetry man are three of my favorite regulars at public comment. The fact that the Supervisors have to sit there with (relatively) straight faces and listen to them week after week often seems quite just. (McGoldrick's incomprehensible rants are seldom of any higher quality but we are subjected to those all the time.) I must say, I like that Peskin seeems quite respectful of each speaker. And, hey, they may waste time, but not $$.
