The SF Jewish Film Festival's On The Way!
Yay, more film festivals! We love it. Next up: the SF Jewish Film Festival, which runs from July 19 to July 26 (with some additional screenings around the area through August 6).
You've got a wide array of movies to choose from, including movies about Jewish boxers and documentaries from Israel -- but also, the always-fun film festival staples of romantic movies set in Paris and plaintive movies about family drama.
What seems especially notable: My Fuehrer, the "farcical revenge fantasy" about a Jewish acting teacher freed from a concentration camp to help Adolf Hitler write a speech; eight episodes of the acclaimed Israeli TV drama A Touch Away, screening at the Jewish Community Center; and, if you missed it at Frameline, a rescreening of the well-received/controversial gay love story between an Israeli and a Palestinian, The Bubble.
SFist'll be on the scene, reporting back from the movies and the theaters -- so check back here once the film fest begins!
