SFist Tonight

qI4Hdmts.jpgBuy yourself some peanuts and cracker jack: Baseball All-Star Game mania continues apace in San Francisco! The All Star Fan Forum runs until 8 p.m. tonight. You can just hang out, or you could attend a session on teaching kids how to play catch (7 p.m.), and learn how to score a baseball game (4 and 6). If you're so filled with baseball fever you're skipping work, you can also meet the women players who inspired that Madonna-Geena Davis-Rosie O'Donnell movie A League Of Their Own at 3 p.m. Also, Alyssa Milano will be hawking her baseball-themed jewelry around 1 p.m. Oh, Alyssa Milano, we really hoped you'd stay with Carl Pavano. $22 at the Moscone Center West (4th and Howard, across from the Metreon).

Other events, for the non-baseball inclined:

--It's the Zeitgeist Int'l Film Festival! Short films in the backyard. $5, 199 Valencia (x Duboce), doors at 8, movies at 9.

--We know, we always give you a Commonwealth Club event on Mondays, but tonight's is that guy who wrote the book about coping with a**holes at work. $18, 595 Market St. 2nd Fl. (x 2nd), 6 p.m.

--More works in progress at the Marsh -- tonight's include a piece entitled "One Night in Alameda" and another called "Love, Humiliation, and Karaoke." $7, 1062 Valencia (x 22nd), 8 p.m.

Re: Baseball's fantastic All Star Game

Dear Motorcycle Cops,

We're sorry your "vacation" in Thailand was cut short because you had to come back and police this event. But please refrain from driving around the city, stopping in the middle of every intersection and barking incoherant orders at a bunch of people who just don't give a f**k what you're trying to achieve. We simply don't care if you've got a busload of MLB executives who have to get to the game, quit f**king with the traffic and let us cross the street to get our goddam sandwitch. Next time I see you I'm just going to give you the finger and walk briskly away, you won't be able to catch me on foot without having a coronary, you lardy.

"[W]omen...are baseball fans and are looking for a fashionable way to accessorize at the games, as well as outside the ballpark." -- Alyssa Milano

Indeed, Alyssa, I don't think truer words have ever been spoken. And along with her hawking Veet hair remover, I'm fascinated by this re-branding of her. Also, I hear she's very, very prickly to work with. I'm just saying...
