fabulousness = lame. gay shame is just trying to save the gay culture from gentrification.... the straight yuppie couple who just bought the house where my studio is attached to are adding nothing to the culture of my neighborhood, like the sweet gay couple who lived there before.. pretty soon the gay culture will be gentrified into yuppies.. is that what people fought for all these years? It's one thing to want rights, but do you really want to be gentrified and culture less in a material society... as my friends and I call this lameness.. "gay in a bad way"

I'm no assimilationist, but I think "Gay Shame" (the group) goes too far. What's wrong with celebrating our queer fabulousness?

Why all the hating on S.N.O.B.? It's their right to drive a Hummer (and also their right to pay $100 to fill the tank of that thing). Would people really rather have Polk Village (or Gulch, or whatever name is fashionable) stay as scummy and resident/tourist-unfriendly as it currently is? Are there a few "Gay Shame" supporters here?

That place is usually pretty empty when I walk by, although sometimes they have someone fun on the piano, and sing-a-longs break out.

Well they're obviously not that snobby about the vehicles they drive. That plastiky, agricultural piece of junk is not exactly the height of vehicular sophistication. Should we see them around town, I'll make sure my driver gives these arrivists a good glare from behind the wheel of the Bentley.

Incidentally, the wine bar S.N.O.B. is terrible. Mediocre wines at high prices and served by rude people ignorant of the wines' characteristics.
