SFist Photo: Harmless, Homeless Honey Bees

That buzzing sound from just above your head could be a swarm of bees, like the ones we saw from a sidewalk not too long ago in the Mission on 23rd near Shotwell.

Now that it's summer, you're less likely to encounter a great mass of bees on the streets of San Francisco. But even in the spring when swarming is more apt to occur, there's no need to fret, honey. According to sfbee.org, the critters in these menacing-looking colonies couldn't sting you even if they wanted. And that buzz, buzz, buzz in the eardrum is good news as we need all the bees we can get these days what with Colony Collapse Disorder mysteriously decimating these hardworking pollinators. So, swarm on little bees, swarm on.

Honey...the best tasting spit-up I've ever had, hands down. Go bees!
