Hot Stuff: Food Blog Round Up

Just in time for 4th of July festivties, we can fawn all over Bunrab's Burger Holy Grail, billed as "the ongoing quest for the finest burgers in the land." Bonus points for breaking it out into two logical categories, fast-food and posh ("you get to eat these before you pay for them"). More beefy inspiration comes from Chez Denise Et Laudalino and Food Notebook. Cate's back online at Burritophile with another, non-meaty breakdown for us: the three options for vegetarians at burrito joints. Yes, yes, tofu is one of the options.

The Chocolate Gourmand got skooled in the tastiest of ways by power blogger David Lebovitz on ice cream, chocolate, and more. Menu included delectables like chocolate souffle cake with orange-cran chutney, olive oil ice cream, and pear granita. Class was held at the posh food emporium Draeger's in San Mateo. Lebovitz is apparently quite the ham. While in town, Lebovitz also dined on crab and Peking duck with Cooking with Amy and other food bloggers at R&G Lounge.

Home made bagel time at Feeding My Enthusiasms. We knead to try one! While we chew, perhaps we can mull over the questions raised by Jennifer Jeffrey about "the slow-organic-local food movement." She has two posts that are full of thoughful questions. Example: do you feel stressed when you read about an elaborate, organic, local meal prepared on a weeknight by someone working full time? Discuss....
