Because some of us need a warm-up of sorts for July 4, "Pinot Days," a celebration of wine made from that particular varietal, is coming to Fort Mason June 29-July 1.

More than 150 winemakers will be there, with more than 400 pinots available for tasting, along with food. While the dinner/charity auction is sold out (and, really, $150 is a bit cost prohibitive for a causual wine enthusiast), there are still several events to choose from. We've got our eye on Sunday's "Grand Festival" ($50 tickets) at the Fort Mason Festival Pavilion. It seems like a great opportunity to enjoy yourself and, wow, learn things.

There are still some tickets available for a few other events; check out pinotdays.com for more info or to purchase.
