A Murder And A Fire

missionshooting625.jpgA man was shot to death in the Mission last night around 2:00 a.m., by 18th and San Carlos. The victim was shot six times in the back and died of his injuries at SF General.

There was also a one-alarm fire by Fifth Street and Market around 6:00 a.m. One person was hospitalized.

Today's early morning shooting was in SureƱo territory and quite close to the SFPD Mission Station on 17th and Valencia. Hope they catch the bastard(s) that did this.

I see that our city's homicide rate is climbing. I doubt this one gets solved like so so many others.

Wow... six times in the back. It is stunning even as shootings are becoming a weekly occurrence.

And a flaming garbage can at 5th & Mission around 11:30. Whee...

So how many murders so far this year? The Chron doesn't say anymore.. It must be in the 30s.. Have we passed 40 yet?
