Yay! Tapioca Ed's back!
Puckish commenter KWillets passes along this picture, from yesterday's Ed Jew Open House in District 4. Originally posted on Craigslist, it's somehow gotten included on Ed Jew's own webpage.
KWillets has done everything on our Oh No, Ed Jew! coverage -- coming up with the name Tapioca Ed, dreaming up the LOLJEW pictures... we're just going to let KWillets cover the Ed Jew beat from here on out!
Thanks, KWillets! We're so excited not to be covering the Newsom cocaine thing, we can't even tell you.

You know, I'm having a hard time deciding which makes San Francisco look the most provincial:
1. the Ed Jew residency scandal
2. the Newsom-Daly cocaine allegation catfight
3. the incessant MUNI-related posts
I'm not sure #1 would even register on the radar in many other cities. Certainly #2 has happened, but more privately and/or silently. And #3? I don't see any unhealthy public transportation obsession at Gothamist.
I would have thought that there is more to San Francisco than the commute or some petty political squabbling.
Any one else noticed the nice, glossy signs versus those of Tap Ed's misguided supporters from last week??
Bring back those damn whales. I miss them.
"Ed Jew Quickly Leave!"
To quote Vince Vaughn from Swinger, that's "money."
About 40,000 of it.
@TinMan
I'm sorry that SF bit you as a child.
@TinMan:
Gothamist doesn't go on about the MTA because their public transit system isn't a joke. If talking about San Francisco's hilariously third-world level public transit system makes us provincial, so be it.
Well if they don't to it at Gothamist!
I'm sorry that SF bit you as a child.
Hell, SF bites me as an adult.
Hell, SF bites me as an adult.
I can never stay mad at TinMan.
Oh, Clank, complaining about MUNI has done nothing to improve it. Ahahahahahahahaha!!!!!
@TinMan
If you're embarassed by SF's bad behavior, move. We don't like you either.

any comments?
Clarification: somebody posted that directions to the pic at edjew.net on CL, in response to terrapin666, who is apparently one of the people holding the anti-Ed signs (http://forums.craigslist.org/?act=Q&ID=66239060). Nice posts.
The pic got onto Ed's site all by itself (save it; it may disappear, er, quickly).
If you're embarassed by SF's bad behavior, move. We don't like you either.
LOL, you're taking this way too seriously, bro. Lighten up. And remember that SF loves diversity.
Note that I observed that three topics of discussion make SF look provincial. I did not specifically say that provincialness is always a negative.
Aahahahahahahahaha!!!

Gothamist LOVES to talk about their subway!
http://gothamist.com/news_nyc/subway/
I am simply tired of hearing people claim that other cities are far better educated, enlightened, artistic, better run, make a better bagels, or are more super-fantastic-wow than whatever place said complainer currently lives in.
SF does claim to love diversity, but calling our neck of the woods peasants because we have wacky politics is only reducing yourself to Chris Daly's level, becoming a mud slinger, and proving that you really don't appreciate that fabled SF diversity.
So if you're really comfortable with portraying yourself in that manner, have at it buddy. But move before you do.
Rita, that just proves my point (and Clank's).
Gothamist made seven subway posts in May and two in June.
SFist made thirty Muni posts for May and thirteen this month. SFist is transit-obsessed.
"...Jew really has two districts: one is District 4, and the other is San Francisco’s Asian American communities. Chinese-speaking constituents from districts across the city are directed to Jew’s office by City Hall staffers who know that his aide can speak to them. No other supervisor offers such services......"
Hmmmmmmm. What happened to Burlingame?
-
@TinMan - You are so right. Its my damn provincialism talking again. LOL
@LuckyStrike:
Ahahahahaha!!! That's great! Fabulous! Perfect!
Sung to Eric Clapton’s most rocking 70's version of the classic song “Cocaine.” Hopeski's ya'll most enjoy!!
When you’re having a bad day and SF is grey,
Cocaine.
When you’re name is Ed Jew and you’re screwing the few,
Cocaine.
When you’re Daly and Newsom, a terrific two-some,
Cocaine.
Jew’s alright,
Jew’s alright,
Jew’s alright,
COCAINE
If you got no water,
And the weather is gettin' hotter,
Cocaine,
When your name is Gavin,
And you’re datin’ a Jenny,
Cocaine.
Jew’s alright,
Jew’s alright,
Jew’s alright,
COCAINE!
TinMan, if MUNI was anything resembling reliable, it wouldn't be a constant subject here. Caltrain could get me 50 miles within minutes of the posted schedule. MUNI requires that I add an extra 30 minutes to go 3 miles.
I spent a week working in NYC and we relied on the subway all week. Despite a couple of minor problems, we had no problem getting to the office at the desired time. This for a system that is 100 years old....
Mike,
You've basically illustrated my point. MUNI's deficiencies are presented here as some mystery/scoop. It's basically that MUNI is unreliable. Unreliable as in "we can't run our system as well as Tokyo, Geneva, or even the college kids who run Unitrans in Davis".
There is no reason to ponder MUNI's ineptitude, nor encourage MUNI riders to complain. MUNI knows *exactly* what's wrong. Without the Web 2.0 feedback sites, without the e-mail inbox, without all that other crap. MUNI has sucked for decades and nothing has ever changed.
I have *lived* in Geneva and you can set your watch to the bus arrivals.
SFist should forgo posting about MUNI. Because it doesn't make a difference.
San Francisco has a multitude of world-class attributes. Why focus on something that's pathetically bad and terminally boring?
