It's Got to Be the Morning After
Brewers 7 Giants 5- The Giants might be one of the worst teams in baseball right now but that doesn't mean they aren't up there in complete and total pain inducing losses. That is for those of you still caring about the team at this point. This time they were down 6-0 and rallied for five runs in the sixth, four of them on a Bengie Molina grand slam, but blew the rally when Kevin Fransden tried to run home on a play he shouldn't have. And then Dave Roberts was called out at first on a play in which the umpire first said was safe and then changed his mind. That happens in baseball virtually never. The Giants have lost seven in a row, were 0-6 on this particular road swing, and are now only a 1/2 game better than the Nats for the claim of "worst team in the National League." Woo hoo.
A's 5 Reds 3- Dan Haren won his ninth game as the A's beat the Reds to take the series and insure themselves of a winning record in interleague play. The A's hit a home run (by the resurgent Jack Cust), played some small ball, were patient at the plate, and did all those things that winning baseball teams do. But while the Reds are kind of easy picking, the A's are off to Shea to take on the Mets. That should be kind of fun. Enjoy A's fans.
