Does Chris hurl the same abuse at his wife and young daughter when he doesn't get his way as he does at his colleagues?

BTW verbal abuse, is banned by California workplace laws.

Wasn't Newsom's "absolutely not" quote in response to the question "Do you care to RESPOND to Daly's allegations"? Or something of that nature?

I posted this in another Daly thread in SFist, but it's worth repeating. My career advice to Supvr Daly is to up his dose of Prozac, or whatever his medical professional suggests. Would a Pot Club card be in order?

Signs and symptoms of mania (or a manic episode) include:

* Increased energy, activity, and restlessness
* Excessively "high," overly good, euphoric mood
* Extreme irritability
* Racing thoughts and talking very fast, jumping from one idea to another
* Distractibility, can't concentrate well
* Little sleep needed
* Unrealistic beliefs in one's abilities and powers
* POOR JUDGEMENT
* Spending sprees
* A lasting period of behavior that is different from usual
* Increased sexual drive
* Abuse of drugs, particularly cocaine, alcohol, and sleeping medications
* Provocative, intrusive, or aggressive behavior
* Denial that anything is wrong

White lines... If you watch video footage of that day, you'll notice Mayor Newsom had a case of the sniffles... perhaps he did a couple lines to make it through a very tough day. Plus how else is an alcoholic going to stay so skinny?

If Ammiano thinks supporting Daly's antics is going to help get him into the Assembly, he had better think again. Chris Daly is to the Progressives in San Francisco what George W. Bush is to the Republican Party Presidential contenders - bad medicine.

I am just glad Daly is done. Perhaps Daly is a rupublican hired as a sleeper to be a laughing stock representing the idiot left? Perhaps? Could Bush be paying him off? Think about it -- decent humans do not act that way. If he had a mind, he would resign, or... represent the concernts of the people he represents (me).

Both I and several people I know are on a first name basis with the Dealer that sells Newsom cocaine.Gavin's been doing that shit for decades. It's common knowledge down in Cow Hollow,Folks!
Gavin does his friend's wives, huffs Blow, is nothing more than a lying, pretty Boy Momma's Manque and he's your Mayor....End of story!

Tom is 66. 12/15/1941.

Talk is cheap ... name the dealer, and let's put the press in hot pursuit. Put up or shut the fuck up.

If you support Daly, you support this kind of behavior. We live in a city with absolutely no civility whatsoever. This proves it.

We live in a city where people like Daly support drug addicts and their rights. Their rights to shoot up on the streets, take dumps and piss all over the city, get horrible illnesses and infections that make them seek treatment at General which then costs taxpayers a ton of money. Folks like Daly and his ilk who support this way of life need to take a look at themselves and ask is this a humane way to treat people.

Forget treatment -- these people are beyond having hit bottom. Toss 'em in jail. It's illegal as far as I know to shoot up in public. Put the rehab money into better services in jail for the junkies who are breaking the law to start with. Maybe just maybe being locked up and watched 24 hours a day for 90 days or 3 years can actually help these poor people who suffer on the streets.

I don't care if they want to stay with their girlfriends or boyfriends or the poor animals they pimp out. They need help and they're breaking the law. We have to stop thinking that it's okay to allow people to continue to live on the streets and die because we think outpatient treatment will work.

The previous posters need to get their facts straight. Daly does not have a young daughter, he has a young son. His wife Sarah is pregnant with their second child, a girl that is due to be born October 30.
The only abuse Sarah Low Daly and her family get are from the mean, rich hacks in this city that don't like Daly's populist advocacy. Real estate developers who have no qualms about throwing grandmothers out on the street with Ellis Act evictions don't like Daly. Corrupt cops who love to beat up on people instead of catching actual criminals don't like Daly.

So cranky are you saying that Gavin Newsoms outpatient treatment won't work?

Hey Erika -- you left about 5,000 people off of your list: the working folks of D6 who despise Daly for not giving a damn about their safety and quality of life. I've lived in D6 for 11 years, and in the past 6, it's gone to hell -- far worse than it was in the previous 5. Coincidence? Vast Rich Meanie Conspiracy to make Daly look bad? Or just one spoiled wanker with a mom who buys him a condo, who only cares to please the bottom of the bucket in SF lifeforms, and a whole raft of losers who saw the opportunity to rule the sidewalks of a lawless district? (Hint: it's #3)

Depends on Newsom. He's not out on the streets, shooting up. If the cops bust him for using drugs -- jail -- same as the junkies.

As for Daly's wife -- that foul mouthed woman hopefully can take care of herself. If not -- start saving some money so we can help her when she goes into hiding at La Casa de las Madres.

Someone says he uses cocaine?
You're right Supervisor Daly has to be making this stuff up, not. Let's ask Eric Jaye.

I live in San Francisco and I am tired of the Supervisor’s wasting my tax dollars and their time on issues where they have no control. Please post this help us get San Francisco back. Historically you’ll see that the Blue Angels have an excellent safety recorded and the FAA and US Navy take every effort to protect the pilots and the spectators. The pressure to cancel the Blue Angels is coming primarily from special interest groups not San Francisco residents. Keep in mind that Fleet Week generates over $4 million in revenue for the city annually.

In addition to safety Code Pink sites “fuel waste” as an issue. We would save more fuel and energy if everyone in the city used energy saving light bulbs than an annual 2 day air show. See link below. Buy am energy saving light bulb and spend your on educating American’s on that issue. The airhsow is not only a point of pride for citizens also for the men and woman in the arm services. This is chance from them to display their professional excellence with honor.

This policy is being considered and introduced by Chris Daly (Chris Daly | chris.Daly@sfgov.org 415-554-7970) NEXT WEEK, therefore please take just a moment and email your Daly and the Supervisor today. Additionally, take a few moments and email this to your friends, family and co-workers. If you’re not a resident please email the Mayor.
Keep in mind we don’t have any special interest groups to help us this is entirely a grassroots effort. If you want to save the Blue Angel’s please act today and encourage others to do so as well.
Thank you,
Adam

I want the Blue Angels to continue to perform at Fleet Week as they have for years. In addition to clear economic benefits of the event this is an annual tribute which I have enjoyed with my friends and family for years. Please do not let special interest groups take away one of the most unique events in San Francisco.
Thank you.

Supervisors:

You go Chris Daly.

I'm glad Chris Daly told it like he saw it. If people had a problem with what he said, too damn bad. Grow some thicker skin. We need more Chris Daly's.

Newsom denies the cocaine allegation. Wasn't it Peter Ragone who denied that Newsom had an alcohol problem as well? And then Newsom admitted that it was so. But the denial started with a lie. So why should we believe Newsom is telling the truth about cocaine?

I saw Newsom on the Channel 2 news and he looked like he was either stoned or something. He had a strange look...of denial? He looked a little worried and was surprised at the allegation.

Meanwhile, another young man shot and killed at 16th and Mission BART.

I'm reading a lot of hypocritical bullshit from a lot of people who'd rather not have their personal lives the subject of endless public conjecture and rumormongering... What a bunch of sanctimonious cunts this town has.

Jesus H. Christ. If the posts here are any indication, this festering shithole of a city simply gets what it deserves.

user-pic

Daly says on the news tonight about the personal attacks, "I'm being sucked into it, and I haven't figured a way out of it yet." Here's my advice - do your job, stop calling the Mayor names and accusing him of breaking the law, do your job, and do your job.

If Chris Daly wants to see some people using cocaine, I could show him about a hundred people on the streets of his District who are smoking it at this very moment.

Uh, Adam -- the Blue Angels' "excellent safety record" is actually pretty dismal. Remember the fatal crash just 3 months ago in South Carolina? If that had been over downtown SF, it would've been a catastrophe. There have been 8 serious crashes in the Blue Angels' history, destroying 11 jets and killing 26 pilots. There have only ever been 261 Blue Angels pilots, so that means that 1 in 10 of them will be killed while flying. Those are NOT good odds.

Flying fighter jets at low altitudes and in close formation over densely populated cities is a fool's gamble. The majority of spectators of the Blue Angels when they perform in SF are not San Franciscans. Why do you think these people should have the right to play Russian Roulette with the lives of San Franciscans? Because they spend some tourist dollars?

You claim that "the pressure to cancel the Blue Angels is coming primarily from special interest groups not San Francisco residents." Oh really? And what group might this be? Can you prove that most San Franciscans want the shows to continue? I doubt it.

Finally, you claim "Keep in mind we don’t have any special interest groups to help us this is entirely a grassroots effort." That's just laughable. How about the US Navy, who uses the Blue Angels as a recruiting/propaganda tool? How 'bout the local tourist industry who profit from it? Go get your jingoistic patriotic jollies in Fairfield or some other place that cares; San Franciscans don't want the Blue Angels any more than they wanted the home-porting of the Missouri.

user-pic

I'm a San Francisco resident, and I enjoy the air show (Blue Angels, Canadian whatever, whomever) once a year. The coast guard helicopter constantly patroling the Bay Bridge and surrounding area for terrorists, on the other hand, isn't so entertaining - but I respect the need it fulfills.

Daly is crazy but why dont Gavin take a lie detector test and prove that he never did coke. If Newsom wants to end the rumors, this is the best way. Its simple, take the test! PROVE to us that you never did the drug!

Wow, Chris Daly broadcasts to the world that he doesn't understand the English language...

Daly claimed that our mayor "artfully dodged" previous questions of cocaine use, yet the video of the supposed "artful dodging", cited by Daly, shows that our mayor answered the question quite clearly and emphatically. When asked on TV news if the cocaine allegations were true last February, our mayor responded that they were "absolutely laughable" and "gratuitously erroneous"

You can watch the video yourself at cbs5.com

I guess Newsom shouldn't have used such a big, fancy, hard-to-understand word as "erroneous" to indicate that the allegations were, in fact, erroneous.

Oh, by the way, for Chris Daly, in case you are reading this, "erroneous" means "false" - as in, you were totally "wrong", and now you have shown that you are either seriously under-educated or else utterly oblivious to the truth.

Chris Daly has abused his position as a public representitive of our city, and he needs to disappear from public service.

A coupla things:

1. I hate the Blue Angels and all they stand for, including the money it costs us as taxpayers to fund the macho assholes. I dread when they come every year, because the loud noise make my chihuahua pee on my oriental carpets. Send them to Salt Lake city or Alabama where most people would go orgasmic over the fly boyz and their war toyz.

2. Who cares if Gav is snorting blow? This is SF fa Krist sake! Destroying city property such as damaging his desk top with his chop blade should not be allowed. Otherwise, let him jones on whatever he wants [on his own time] and pork anybody he pleases.

[COMMENT HAS BEEN DELETED PER GOTHAMIST COMMENT POLICY. --eds.]

mariconsoy |
True. But it sure looks like Chris Daly care if Gavin is snorting blow. And you know how everyone rallys around Chris Daly!!!

J
This has nothing to do with Daly but it has everything to do with Gavin. Lets face it. Gavin is not doing a good job as mayor. So to cover up this tracks, he using this as a smokescreen to have focus on something else rather than on what Gavin has done this past few months – which is next to nothing.

There are many companies that have regular drug testing for its employees. But I don’t think SF has those sort of rules due to privacy concerns. Lie detector tests would also not work due to privacy concerns.

Whats good for the goose..... Chris Daly needs to come clean about his medical condition, and tell us what substances he takes, and what he is been treated for...

Okay, let me get this straight...

Everyone commented here b/c Supervisor Daly insuiated that Mayor Newsom "artfully doged questions about his own cocaine use".

The cruxe of the matter is that 2 MILLION dollars from a 6 BILLION dollar budget is being cut for substance abuse programs.

Mayor Newsom has admitted to having an addiction to ALCOHOL. He is assumed to be still in treatment in regard to his "wanting to have a drink at the end of the day".

So I ask all of you.
Is Mayor Newsom HYPOCRITICAL to be cutting 2 MILLION DOLLARS for substance abuse programs while presenting a 6 BILLION DOLLAR budget that a) does not replace or provide another alternative for the program being cut.
b) does not assist the Public Health Agency burdened with the individuals that would lose services from said program.

Now this is what everyone who gives a flying fuck should do...
First, read the budget look for the missing money and the reason for the money is being cut
Second, Go to a Budget meeting seriously either from video or in person.
Thirdly, 3% of the budget is being used for the Health Plan but, that won't pay for the programs being cut
Lastly, support Supervisor Chris Daly or Support Mayor Gavin Newsom but ensure vital services are not being cut from programs that actually work i.e. substance abuse programs.

Hey, Chris, just a bit of advice, dude. Tk dffrnt rt hm vr dy frm Ct Hll, K? Hv ll th lcks n yr hs chckd, knw? Dn't stp t tlk t nyn n th strt wh wnts t "dilg". [DELETED]. sk t s th cbl gy's D bdg bfr lt hm n.

[PORTIONS OF COMMENT HAVE BEEN DELETED PER GOTHAMIST COMMENT POLICY. --eds.]

@That Chick: The entire city budget was cut across the board. Got it? Every department has to make do with less so we can have a balanced budget.

I for one would hope that these cuts would force the various departments to be more efficient. Sadly they'll probably keep doing things the same way and result in less service and less quality.

At one time this was "The City that Knows How", believe it or not...

"...Daly claimed that our mayor "artfully dodged" previous questions of cocaine use, yet the video of the supposed "artful dodging", cited by Daly, shows that our mayor answered the question quite clearly and emphatically. When asked on TV news if the cocaine allegations were true last February, our mayor responded that they were "absolutely laughable" and "gratuitously erroneous"..."

response to "someone"

Daly was clearly refering to the police officers who are suing Mayor Newsom and are trying to get him to testify under oath about cocaine abuse.

The mayor and his attorneys are fighting this subpoena like mad dogs.

if Mayor Gavin Newsom does not abuse cocaine his opportunity to appear at a trial and testify under oath that he never abused cocaine, and to confront witnesses and evidence, is before him now.

Can I also add that it appears that Ed Jew is facing charges from the district attorney not because he lied about his residency, but because he lied about his residency UNDER OATH.

For Mayor Newsom to lie to the media and to his constituents is not per se illegal and in fact he does it all the time. His good friend's wife. I'll say in public right now that Mayor Gavin Newsom is a liar and a pig.

To lie UNDER OATH is illegal and is called perjury.

Once again, if Gavin Newsom feels so strongly that he never abused cocaine he has an opportunity to testify UNDER OATH, but he and his attorneys are fighting very very hard to avoid having to confront this issue in a court of law.

Moderators,
I'm all for free speech, but the post above from El Greco looks and sounds a lot like a threat to me.

Yep, please delete El Greco's comment as offensive and threatening.

Now, Chris, are you reading? If so, some advice: zip it. You are doing your constituents and all San Franciscans a great disservice.

First off Newsom on advise of his atty will not comment on those 16 police officers suing the city for 20 million. You remember the "STUPID" film they made and posted on the internet.

Now Daly want's more treatment for those drug addicts, well Pro 36 has proven a huge failure 30% completion rate.

Rumor yeah remember Newsom is gay, sure right PLEASE!

Chris is a child on city payroll, his district reflects his leadership and what he stands for!!

Yeah another proud newsom supporter. Threatening women and children is simply par for for course for them.

Since nobody has come forward with any real evidence other than rumor, innuendo, and unverified anonymous second- or third-hand hearsay, the burden of proof is currently not on the Mayor to prove the negative. Let Daly, the police union goons, or STEVEN come forward with somebody who can speak from their own personal knowledge and be subject to investigative scrutiny and/or cross-examination, and then it will be up to Newsom to rebut the accusations. Until then, they need to shut the fuck up.

It's really too bad that Daly can't be sued for defamation because he said it in a City Council meeting. It almost makes one wish that duelling was still around.

Newsom on the advice of his attorney will not comment under oath about cocaine abuse.

I never said he had DUMB laywers because clearly he does not.

Obviously it would be a complete disaster if Newsom had to take the stand about cocaine abuse.

Offensive? You bet. Threatening? Hardly. It's called political humor. Delete it or not if you like. Matters not to me.

to all the progressives in town. please read that link to what people on the street think of your boy chris daly. you have lost the war. nobody cares about your causes anymore and your puppet is the one that blew it. the tide has now turned and common sense will prevail over idealogues. a new day is dawning and we are going to throw your worthless asses on the street for good.

career advice to mr daly. go back to duke and get your 4 year degree. you obviously missed a crucial portion of the essential maturation process as an adult in getting said 4 year degree.

good luck.

",,,It's really too bad that Daly can't be sued for defamation because he said it in a City Council meeting. It almost makes one wish that duelling was still around..."

What Daly said was Newsom was 'artfully dodging' allegations of cocaine use, which looks to be a factual statement. Newsom is not the only one with smart lawyers and I'm sure there are city hall attorneys right now SALIVATING at the prospect of crushing a bad faith lawsuit in an election year.

It is funny you should mention duels because there is a political commercial from hillary that is a spoof on the Sopranos, which I though was really really funny, and it reminded me of a recent Sopranos episode, i believe it was episode 19. called "the second coming" from this year, where a gangster threatened Tony's daughter in a bar, and Tony's daughter told her dad, and then Tony went to the bar and found the gangster in the bar.

What happened to the guy in the bar is on of the greatest scenes in recent TV history and I advise el greco or anyone who threatens women and children to see it when it comes out on dvd.

Chris Daly caring about ANYONE using coke is a fucking farce. Why does he care -- because it's against the law? So is smoking pot, but that's never stopped probably half of all city employees from doing that at one time or another (almost certainly including Daly himself).

Does he care because cocaine is one of the BAD drugs? Well, if Newsom IS using it, he doesn't seem to be addicted to it, which is more than can be said for the hundreds (thousands?) of people in Daly's own district who ARE addicted to it, for whom Daly apparently cares very little. Crack dealing and using goes on 24/7 on the sidewalks of D6. What has Chris Daly ever done to address this?

A big difference between someone snorting a little blow at a party once a month and a crackhead is that the former is probably paying for it out of their legitimate income, whereas the latter can and will commit any crime necessary to get their next rock. Crack-related street crimes probably account for half of all of the car break-ins, etc., in D6. THERE'S the issue that Daly should be focusing on.

...and I might add, pot's illegality hasn't stopped Chris Daly from approving the opening of no less than 19 pot clubs in D6, where proprietors illegally dispense pot to people -- many of whom don't have any kind of medical necessity for it, or who simply retail it elsewhere.

Where do the people in here get the idea that they have the right or the ability to demand that Newsom denies cocaine use/abuse under oath?

Fuck you.

If the pyrrhic victory here results in a Clintonesque "I didn't inhale" answer, will everyone be happy?

Guaranteed that 90% of the posters in this thread have smoked grass, and that 50% ++ have done blow. But the sanctimony and hypocrisy is simply unbelievable.

Has Newsom ever, in his life, done blow? The right answer, as it is for all of us, is "go fuck yourself."

Now go fuck yourselves. And fuck "Christ" Daly.

Why was I deleted???

[REMAINDER OF COMMENT DELETED PER GOTHAMIST COMMENT POLICY -eds. Commenter, we'll send you a note to the email address you've provided us explaining the deletion.]

Patrick, your mentioning Clinton is spot-on. Those who hated him and wanted to take him down were all at least as guilty as Clinton when it came to sexual impropriety (Gingrich? Hyde? Barr anyone?). To excuse their own hypocrisy, they claimed that the real issue wasn't the sex, it was the "fact" that Clinton committed perjury. Of course Clinton wouldn't've been under oath in the first place, had there not been witch hunt predicated upon sham sexual morals.

Those who hate Newsom and want to take him down are simply taking a page from the Republican witch-hunters handbook. "Get 'em under oath. Then it doesn't matter if the public doesn't care about what they did; the perjury can be the real crime." Clearly, Chris Daly's ploy is predicated upon sham drug morals.

but patrick, you miss the point entirely. it's much more important to these bleeding heart shitbags to make gavin look less credible than to actually help anyone get off the street.

their actions say it all.

Another proud Newsom supporter.

Does the mayor abuse cocaine?

"Go fuck yourself."

All I'm going to say is if the subpoena is enforced and Newsom is forced to testify under oath about cocaine use you all are going to be hurtin....

All this fucking before I've finished my morning coffee...sheesh. It's going to be a long day.

Just a reminder, readers and commenters:

Given how vitriolic this thread is getting, we're monitoring it much more closely than we normally do. Keep it in the bounds of good taste; from this comment on, we'll be pulling comments we think go over the line.

As a general guideline: if Chris Daly had posted on this thread the same things he said at the BoS meeting, we'd've taken it down too.

Everyone has skeletons. If Gavin's worst deed is that he has done coke and slept with someone else's wife he is a saint compared to almost any other politician in office today. Daly was just throwing him under the bus. I would like to see Cheney throw Bush under the bus like that. We need some more checks and balances in society today in almost every aspect, but not in our personal lives, no matter who we are.

According to published news reports mayor gavin newsom is dodging allegations of cocaine abuse.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=463391&in_page_id=1770

does daly have [DELETED]?

he sure sounds like he does, after reading the descriptions of hitler's dysfunctional behaviour

i think daly would like to eliminate all the property and business owners in this town

[COMMENT EDITED PER GOTHAMIST COMMENT POLICY --eds.]

For people who are so upset that a Supervisor is acting in an offensive and uncivil manner, a lot of you are really being offensive and uncivil about it.

To [34]Paul Lindner: The entire city budget was NOT cut across the board. The 07-08 budget is $400 million bigger than last year's. Gavin had plenty of leeway in balancing the budget, and he chose to balance it on the back of the poor. I'm all for efficient government, but forcing efficiency by cutting services for our most vulnerable citizens is not what San Francisco is about. You should watch the four hours of public testimony from people about those cuts and tell us which of those hard working people's low-paying non-profit jobs deserve to be cut.

And it's a cop-out to say that we have to make tough choices between substance abuse services and public safety or street paving. If Gavin needs money to spend on 311 and his other pet projects, he should find it from places like the opera and symphony and de Young who can go raise their own money--not from non-profits dedicated to helping people.

To [33] and [43] El Greco: Dude, if you're going to make a threat, have the balls to stand behind it. If threatening Chris Daly and his kid is supposed to be political humor, you're not funny. Threatening children is not funny.

Hey Dan -- have you stopped beating your wife?

See how absurd "dodging allegations" is? Anyone can claim anything they want, but the onus is on the claimant to prove it, not for you -- or Newsom -- to disprove allegations.

And news to you: cocaine USE is not the same as cocaine ABUSE, any more than alcohol use equals alcoholism.

Anyone who spends just 15 seconds googling the search terms 'newsom cocaine" and"newsom dyslexia" must come to the conclusion that Gavin Newsom is a dyslexic cokehead.

I'm interested in Gavin's ideas about the difference between alcohol use and alcohol abuse.

dan -

I suspect you see yourself as a person who wants to preserve civil liberties. Things like curbing search and seizure, and maintaining a right to privacy.

But you have it in your head that a politician you appear to hate can be taken down by coke allegations, and you're foaming at the mouth. It's pure schadenfreude. You're so clearly excited by the prospect of sworn testimony that you're baiting everyone who thinks this is a bullshit snipe hunt.

A couple things for you to know:

1) civil liberties apply to all people, not just the ones you support

2) why on earth would there be a need for sworn testimony on an unfounded rumor?

3) the loser here is Daly, who will get a formal censure from the board

4) I stand by my earlier sentiment fully. you want to ask me a bunch of irrelevant personal questions? I'll borrow some language from Chris and his wife, and tell you to fuck yourself.

Of course Clinton wouldn't've been under oath in the first place, had there not been witch hunt predicated upon sham sexual morals.

He also wouldn't have been under oath in the first place if he himself hadn't signed into law a bill passed by a Democratic Congress, which made all kinds of questions about a sexual harassment defendant's past relationships and sexual conduct involving other persons besides the plaintiff fair game. That one sure backfired, didn't it?

To all the Daly supporters, I publicly retract my previous comments about the honorable Supervisor, who I now know stands for truth, justice and the American way. And I also want to state categorically that these rumors about Daly being a pigfucker are just as wrong as can be. Each of the pigs in question gave their full consent before any intimate contact was initiated.

I just Googled "dan pedophile" and got 308,000 hits.

Would you like to respond to the allegations, dan?

Hello again the coke thing started with Police Officers would we're suspended by the city for a "Film" posted on the net in bad taste. Newsom and Fong we're up front on the issued and showed there anger publicly. These officers now are suing SF for 20 million making "racist" claims against Fong over who was not suspended.
Any remarks by these officers is "tainted" $$$$$ at taxpayers expense???? The city atty feel the case as no merit??

Sorry about the mis- spelling i'll review more in the future, but i want "facts out" not rumor

el Greco! You're back, you slimy POS. Your previous post was a violation of about 10 very serious state and federal laws and if I were you I'd wonder if I might be the subject of an FBI investigation right now.

If I were you I would in all seriousness step away from the computer keyboard and never come back.

True, dat. But the Republicans still would've found a way to take him down. Remember -- Clinton's sexual escapades were just one of the avenues that they were exploring, any one of which would've been enough for them to build a case on.

I'm interested in Gavin's ideas about the difference between alcohol use and alcohol abuse.

I've been around Gavin Newsom after hours often enough to find claims of him being a coke abuser OR an alcohol abuser to be pretty unbelievable. Yeah, he has a few drinks (as do most of us), and whatever drugs -- if any -- that he does, he seems to have no problem with.

Personally, I think that the "alcohol abuse" thing was exaggerated -- a ruse to make his sexual impropriety with RR-T seem like it had an external cause. Apparently it worked.

I guess if we are going to go wildly off topic I'd like to point out that it was completely true that at the time Newt Gingrich was condemning clinton that he himself was cheating on his wife and you really have to wonder about that kind of mindset.

having said that, I see a difference between cheating on you wife like newt gingrich, which was enough to bar him forever from politics given the hypocracy and the circumstances, and having sex in the oval office with a young intern who is under your direct supervision while you are in the position of commander in chief our armed forces.

Both actions are patholical but one is more pathological by an order of magnitude in my opinion.

I don't understand what it is about our political system that attracts sociopaths to seek political office.

i'm starting to think it's time for a civil war here in the city. winner take all.

here's what i suggest.

progressives vs everyone else, meet at civic center on july 4th at noon, no holds barred, channel 4 news style, just no touching of the face or hair. i'll bring my trident.

the winners get to set the priorities for the budget, make our government accountable, fire all the union employees and replace them with immigrants that actually work, the losers have to shut the fuck up, forever.

if we win, the homeless go to treasure island, we bulldoze the tenderloin and 6th street corridor to redevelop it into something useful.

if we lose, we abondon the city and let the homeless and the progressives turn it into the shit hole they are so hellbent on it becoming and we say good riddance.

"...if we lose, we abondon the city and let the homeless and the progressives turn it into the shit hole they are so hellbent on it becoming and we say good riddance..."

And if you win you can turn the city over to dishonest pyramid scheme real estate speculators who will offer adjustable "teaser rate" "subprime" "liar loans" to
bag holding financial illiterates who will then evict the elderly, the middle class, and really just everyone who cannot afford a monthly mortgage of $6500 per month and who happen to stand in the way of your repugnant get rich quick real estate frauds.

Exactly Chris's idea is "all carrot" don't bother them if they smoke crack/piss on the street it's there right!
He's against the community court he hates the SFPD, he hates the military.

As demonic as some posters seem willing to portray Supervisor Daly, the issue isn't about Daly's temper--it's about recent events demonstrating Mayor Newsom's ability to maintain denial when questions are raised about his personal behavior. Does anyone else here remember how long it took and how many people had to confront the Mayor before he came clean?

If Mayor Newsom hasn't used cocaine, then he could put all doubts to rest by providing a hair sample for a cocaine screening.

Otherwise, our philandering Mayor has absolutely no room to label anyone else's behavior as "sleazy." I think his actions here reveal the contempt he feels for San Francisco's electorate.

I'm a working District 6 voter, too. Somehow, it seems to me that Daly's detractors have way too much time on their hands for screwing off on local blogs during business hours.

ummm Dan?

have you ever heard of Rincon Hill?

the biggest eye sore ever for the City, it's a disaster, only 14 units sold to date

twice the height of the normal permit process so Daly could get 50mm in fun money for his pet programs

who you calling dishonest and a pyramid scheme now fucknut?

;)

For those who criticize Newsom for philandering, I have two words:

Willie. Brown.

You know, I don't understand what it is about you mindless Newsom supporters, except that you are as dyslexic and drug addled as he is, that makes you believe that we are not just as horrified at some of the truly chilling acts of madness that the homeless mentally ill conduct on our streets every day, because we absolutely are.

I hear comments and complaints every so often that Daly and Newsom supporters agree on 90% of the issues, and it is completely true.

We are not real happy about homelessness. We hate crime. We want clean streets, a clean city, and adequate police to protect us from random street terror.

But the simple act of worrying about that becomes such a luxury if you live under the constant threat of being driven out of the city by a corrupt real estate speculator.

I we get evicted, all of sudden we dont have to worry about the homeless problem in san francisco.
We don't have to worry about crime, or potholes.
We've been driven out of san francisco by hyper wealthy real estate conmen who dont understand or dont care the ramifications of a real estate bubble caused by their blind thoughtless stewardship of our country.

We agree with you on nearly everything!!!!!

But we are smarter than you are. We recognize what a luxury it is to step over the pile of whatever that is on our front steps, and what a pleasure it is to ruin our transmission on a pothole, and how lucky we are to have a big, big gun pointed out our heads by an underage drug addict who will seriously blow our brains out if we do not quickly produce a twenty dollar bill, because we have the great honor of living in the best city in the whole world, and as bad as these problems are, we face a far greater threat from our conman landlords.

Everytime I see a nearly dead drug addict near my fromt porch I realize what a fantastic luxury it is to be able to step over his body, and i curse my landlord and his political allies who hold the sword of eviction above my head and laugh.

Wait Calvin was out front on his issues of an affair. Admitted it and took corrective actions.

Best city in the whole world?! Dan, you have *got* to be kidding.

Chance

Why does Gavin need to do a cocaine screening? Why does he need to be under oath? He has to be charged with the crime first. I’m sure you would not provide a DNA sample or urine sample unless law enforcement charged you with a crime. Right now, the police or the feds are not involved. Its just fingerpointing from Chris Daly and other supervisors.

However, I do see much more pressure on Gavin in the coming days. I’m sure many prominent Republicans would love to take Gavin down.

'twice the height of the normal permit process so Daly could get 50mm in fun money for his pet programs

who you calling dishonest and a pyramid scheme now fucknut?'

Hey numbskull its called "free market" and it is drummed into our heads from kindergarten onwards.

If they can't sell their condos they simply have to LOWER THEIR PRICES because god knows the don't seem to have a problem RAISING them....

where do you live dan? what do you do for money? i'm not trying to be an ass, i'm trying to understand more of your plight. how realistic is it to think that we can subsidize everyone forever in this town of 7x7 square miles. what's wrong with bart or caltrain? why don't you move?

What drugs does Chris Daly take on a regular basis? Should he not come clean about his mental health issues that are known to many of us???

Gavin's spin staff is working this issue like magic. It seems like Gavin's whole PR agenda is "let's focus on trivial personal stuff so that people don't actually talk about what craptacular job he's doing as mayor.

It seems that Daly is falling for it hook, line, and sinker. The poor guy should realize that he can't shoot his mouth off like that when the media hates him so much.

Oh, and for all your calls for 'civility' and your fake-outrage at Daly's transgressions, you pro-Gavin people sure are full of hate and bombast. Kind of a pot-kettle situation it seems.

Got a new name for you, dan: Dan Quixote.

You seem to be on a hopeless quest to overcome the forces of a free market. Noble, impassioned, hopelessly delusional. Ultimately tragic.

With the weight Daly's been putting on, he'd make a good Sancho Panza.

I've never understood this bullshit about the homeless / addicts being somehow "forced" to stay in San Francisco. San Francisco is the most expensive city for housing in the US, outside of Manhattan. There is a finite amount of space and resources here, no matter how rich one might be. If a person is poor, San Francisco is the absolute worst place for them to try to stay -- other than for the facts that the weather is mild, the tourists are generous and the city more generous still.

If a person is homeless, if they can't afford to live in San Francisco, then they should go somewhere where they can afford to live, not expect everyone else to take care of them. I work my ass off to pay rent for my apartment, but if I couldn't afford to pay it anymore, I wouldn't put my hand out for charity, I'd move to someplace cheaper. That's just the way the world works. I don't have a "right" to live on Presidio Terrace just because I like it there. If I can't afford $10 million for a house there, I'm SOL. That doesn't mean that I couldn't maybe afford a small house somewhere else. Bottom line: the people on the street are there because of decisions they've made. And if they insist upon staying here, on the street, they have no one but themselves to blame.

Supervisor Daly was absolutely correct to bring this issue up in the context he did. The removal of critical services to people who need and can't afford them most is criminal. The mayor has lied twice in the past about misconduct and had to come clean later, why believe this denial? The mayor jumping up and down and proclaiming this to be a new low is outrageous, in his own statement he admitted that politicians (read gavin) usually have their people do the dastardly deeds so as to get distance. What Supervisor Daly did was out front, on topic and correct, and the chronicle editorial is a joke. Why doesn't the chronicle talk about how gavin, et al, framed an innocent African American manager over at the Department of Building Inspection only to have the jury vote 11 to 1 on aquittal and the da to dismish all the charges later? This was gavins way of getting his appointee in place, Amy Lee, and you should read the court transcript as to what this "team newsom" member did to enrich herself! Anyway she got a raise, a promotion and dispatched to Marcia Rosen, over at the Redevelopment Agency (I guess Benefit Magazine has its quota of bimbettes for now) good luck Marcia, count the silverware everynite!

In City Hall, there have also been reports of Gavin running with scissors. Let’s have him take an oath to see if he admits it.

The removal of critical services to people who need and can't afford them most is criminal.

Proof positive that you have no concept of the meaning of the word "criminal". It's not even unethical, much less criminal. Show me the law that says that it's legally required for the taxpayers of San Francisco to give a huge percentage of their tax dollars to pay for helping addicts who have willingly become addicted to their drug of choice. Where is it? Your ignorance is astonishing.

user-pic

I can't speak for others, but I believe a good chunk of the frustration voiced here against Supervisor Daly is that he is so busy politicking against Mayor Newsom instead of governing for us in District 6 - and even worse, he embarasses us with his immature actions and worst of politics by personally attacking the Mayor, calling him a liar and suggesting he does cocaine, while working for the people of District 6. If he wants to spend the majority of his time politicking against the Mayor, he should resign his Supervisor seat and starting taking action to get on the ballot. Otherwise, he should focus on his job and working for what is best for ALL San Franciscans, especially ALL of those living in District 6.

We have to have a balanced budget ... just because Chris wants a brand new Corvette, so-to-speak, sometimes, mom and dad (the City) might only be able to afford the used Trans Am.

Anonymiste
You're on spot!!! Care not Cash is great i know i've used it. They got me housing, they help with dental work, got in JRT im working part time now moving forward too full time.
SF offers everything sadly many won't/don't use them and abuse our city.
Clean up, get up or please get out, they get anyone bus ticket home

'...if they can't afford to live in San Francisco, then they should go somewhere where they can afford to live, not expect everyone else to take care of them..'

There is real merit in what you say and I think there is much room for negotiation and concession.

Particularly in SF, a city with limited land and great demand.

But first we have to straighten some things out.

First we have to make adjustable rate subprime liar loans illegal. Their only purpose is to prop
up a real estate asset value long enough for the current owners to find someone dumb enough to buy at the top of the market and then lose hundreds of thousands of dollars when the market turns and the music stops.

Seconds, mortgages must be REAL, with fixed rates and down payments and credit checks, because without those
free market checks and balances real estate prices are artificially inflated.

Third, we have to eliminate the tax provision that allows homeowners who live in their principal residence for at least two years to avoid up to half a million dollars in capital gains taxes for a married couple. This creates the incentive for landlords to evict tenants and claim the property as a prinicpal residence for two years before they flip it back into the market and collect up to half a million dollars COMPETELY TAX FREE.

Fourth, we have to eliminate the tax deductions that allow homeowners to deduct the mortgage interest, property taxes, and home equity loan interest.

Fifth, we should eliminate the absurd practice of allowing landlords to depreciate their buildings when in fact the buildings are appreciating. I understand depreciation is really just recouping business expenses, but if I have a landlord who insists that I pay for painting, and carpet wear and tear, and basic maintainence on the unit, I cannot write that off, and neither should he if in fact the price of his building has actually increased regardless of the paint or condition of the carpet.

Once we have taken those steps to create a true free real estate market, rather than a market that is propped up and inflated by all manner of tax breaks and loopholes, then we can discuss the function of a free market to allocate resources, and we can discuss how the poor must allow market forces to drive them out of the places they have been born in and have lived their entire lives.

Other than that you can go straight to hell.

user-pic

You forgot to mention the inflated rents and housing values as a result of "affordable housing" programs in the City.

dan,

you didn't answer my questions. do you live in the TL? do you make less than 85k/year? do you know about the below market rate housing you can buy all over the place since we have such a developer mandate to include it in every project?

if you don't have any credit after wasting your life getting high please don't lash out at me.

i am trying to understand and hopefully help you see that you can afford to buy here if you have a job and don't piss your life away like chris daly seems to preach you should.

funny you should mention affordable housing:

http://www.beyondchron.org/news/index.php?itemid=4637#more

great article about how we will not be able to afford to do it any more

might be time to start accepting some realities around here

Lots of pixels spent there, Dan, but very little more than "this is the way it should be", and stomping your foot about it not being that way.

And we can get around to entirely restructuring the real estate world at the same time that we entirely restructure the culture and practice of entitlement for those at the other end of the spectrum.

And by the way -- the vast majority of San Francisco's homeless were NOT "born in and have lived their entire lives". Less than half of them have been here for 7 years. And a huge percentage of them came here from elsewhere in the Bay Area specifically because we have far more generous assistance programs than do other neighboring counties.

Suckafree that program you mentioned about affordable housing is something progressives like Daly have fought for and is the entire reason the suffer the rath of your real estate mind controllers.

Ask that moron in the mayor's office if he supports
affordable housing set asides and he'll say "oh helllll nooooooooo......."

he will say that this is a supply issue and part of the solution is to build more housing and he is absolutely correct, except you yourself said that Rincon hill is sitting vacant, so apparently when prices are not right the real estate vampires simply hold on to the property and I guess accumulate the losses for future write off??

Once again, if Rincon Hill would simply lower their prices they would fill that condo REAL FAST!!!!

I can only guess the profit they insist on for that contract but I have friends that build giant hospitals and hotels and condos and all manner of commercial construction in another state and this company is completely happy with an average of 10%

And that brings up another thing, we have to stop allowing gouging by developers. Ten percent of a quarter billion dollar project should be enough profit for anyone and is probably standard for the industry most places......

Frankly, I'm not so concerned about whether Gavin is or was doing cocaine, or if he lies about, as I am concerned about effective government for this city.

In my book, Daly blew it on a few levels:

1) Whatever their differences, I expect the Mayor and the Supervisors to get along and behave like adults. Bringing up personal issues as a way to score points, is destructive and pointless.

2) As a recovering drug and alcohol user, while I'm concerned about anyone who habitually uses and abuses, Daly's "outing" of Newsom in a public forum was uncalled for.

3) Has anyone else noticed how uncivil, this once very friendly city has become? As someone who has lived here for over 30 years, I'm dismayed at the utter contempt displayed by all tribes in the city for those who aren't part of their group. San Francisco, which once symbolized peace and tolerance, has become one of the rudest cities in America.

On all three counts, Daly crossed the line.

12-15 percent is what the average developer makes on a rincon hill type investment, presuming they can float it for 5 years with 10 years of fincancing and they don't get sued, they don't get blackmailed for 50mm by our college dropout supervisor.

I'd be suprised if rincon makes 10 percent and sells out in the next 5 years.

It will be a ghost town for several reasons, the 50mm being one of many. They have no deeded parking, again thanks to daly, so nobody wants to buy. Its ugly, its next to a bridge, literally, its in a horrible part of town.

Its going to be a disaster, just like everything else daly touches.

Great point about the attraction of flies we represent to the Homeless. We have to stop paying them beyond Care not Cash. I suggest we try the following:

Make it illegal to donate cash or food to them on the street (anti panhandling isn't working, so go after the John's so to speak)

Stop paying for recycling (this stops all kinds of disgusting behaviour in the City from helping feed drug habits to cottage industries of theives in the middle of the night)

These two alone could help show the Homeless how serious we are about getting them off the street and into helpful situations. Its not unlike feeding the bears in Yosemite. We are dooming these people to lifetime of drug and alcohol problems and a painful death on the street by letting the status quo persist.

You know something sukafree...if you really are that privy to the developers then you know how goddamn unimaginably rich they are and what an evil bastard you are for showing no consideration at all for legions of suffering people.

i don't have any sympathy for the developers dan, trust me. my building is suing ours, just like every other condo in town. it's baked in to their business plans nowadays. can we talk about you for a second? why don't you buy a condo somewhere in the city, or move to somewhere you can afford one and get the hell out of the TL?

i agree with you on the sub prime stuff, total bs that created the next savings and loan type fiasco but i dont expect anyone to get bailed out this time.

i dont think you can blame just the lenders for this however, the folks that signed these loans that are taking on more than 35% of their take home to pay a mortgage knew what they were getting into.

lets get real.

US Housing Crash Continues
It's A Terrible Time To Buy
Why?

1. Prices still disconnected from fundamentals. House prices are still far beyond any historically known relationship to rents or salaries. Rents are less than half of mortgage payments. Salaries cannot cover mortgages except in the very short term, by using adjustable interest-only loans. Anyone who buys now will suffer losses immediately, and for the next several years at least.

2. Buyers borrowed too much money and cannot pay the interest. Now there are mass foreclosures, and senators are talking about taking your money to pay for your neighbor's McMansion.

Banks happily loaned whatever amount borrowers wanted as long as the banks could then sell the loan, pushing the risk onto Fannie Mae (ultimately taxpayers) or onto buyers of mortgage backed securities. Now that it has become clear that a trillion dollars in mortgage loans will not be repaid, Fannie Mae is under pressure not to buy risky loans and investors do not want mortgage backed securities. This means that the money available for mortgages is falling, and house prices will keep falling, probably for 5 years or more.

A return to traditional lending standards will mean a return to traditional prices, which are far below current prices.

dan -

Are you REALLY that naive? Developers are supposed to put up hundreds of millions of dollars, all at significant risk, for the possibility of an eventual 10% return? They'd do better with a certificate of deposit at BofA.

Yes, some developers are wealthy. Some, however, have lost vast sums. The accumulation of wealth is not actually criminal, you know.

The very thought that developers owe something to those who can't afford housing (in an expensive housing market) is laughable. You like it, buy it. You don't like it, don't buy it. Nobody owes you a goddamned thing. Housing here is expensive. Get over it. I did.

"Legions of suffering people"? Suffering from what? I'd love to live on the top floor of the Four Seasons building. I can't afford to. It's beyond my means. I guess I'm among the suffering many. I guess I should rail against the horrible injustice of it all.

I'm also suffering from the goddamned homeless crisis, I'll tell you that much. I live in D6, and it's becoming more of a sewer every day.

I think you'll be happy if you do what Daly did:

1) qualify for a BMR condo
2) have Mommy give you the down payment
3) vote yourself a 300% raise immediately following
4) laugh at the suckers who can't play the game

Dan

Wonder why they suffer? No help avail? they don't give a sh-t a % will steal, smoke and violate the law at will. How much do we suffer by there actions.
Daly wants more of them in the city, Damn the Police, Damn the community court.

WELL I SAY DAMN CHRIS DALY

Hey sucka we can talk about me if you want but I am curious about you.

Apparently you own a condo in a building in SF and you are suing the developer.

That is definitely most developer unfriendly.

when did you buy and are you losing your ass yet???

I say 'yet' because if you are not already then fairly soon you likely will be.

I'm glad you believe so much in the system.

(cool-aid drinker....)

dan,

the san francisco real estate market is not the midwest. we didnt crash in 2000 and we will not crash again post sub prime crash. it's just too popular a place to live. all that happens here in a down market is it takes 3 months instead of 45 days to sell your place at asking.

do you know of any bankruptcies in city?

as for rents being half a mortgage, bullshit.

the avalon in southbeach is getting 2-4k/mo for 2 bedrooms depending upon if its furnished and the timeframe to rent and your credit, etc, etc.

are you the homeless guy that camps out at starbucks all day on king street?

mike. They suffer because something out there beyond your or my understanding has driven them stark raving. Tread carefully because "but for the grace of god...."

Patrick!!! Is that really you at patrick.net???

No I'm not so naive at to believe sf developers will accept 10%. I just said EVERYBODY ELSE most other places in america accepts 10% and that is GROSS profit not NET.

You greedy ass motherfucker.

Now I'm curious what bank you go to that offers a 10% cd.......

what had daly done for you personally dan?

please tell us

btw, he didn't invent affordable housing.

;)

sucka I refer you to my previous statement.

(cool-aid drinker)

Why dont you go snort some coke, sucka?

what am i drinking? i'm not the one that blindly follows the socialist agenda here in the city that will lead us all to ruin.

i actually think for myself. you should try that sometime. you might actually like it.

;)

I don't know why you call me socialist. I have been advocating free markets all day on this internet message board.

Haven't you been reading????

You are the condo holding sheep. I do think for myself.

Dan -- Why do you suppose there are so many "suffering people" in San Francisco?

What percentage of those on the street today are truly victims of these "evil" landlords, who were renters here, were forced out, have nowhere else to go and AREN'T substance abusers? What percentage of them came here and had a place to stay (perhaps with friends) but never actually had their names on a lease, and ended up migrating to the street? What percentage of them have made the decision to use addictive substances, which keeps them poor? And what percentage of them are nothing more than opportunists, thieves and con artists, here to take whatever they can? I think that even you will have to admit that people in the latter 3 categories far outnumber the first category of people on SF's sidewalks.

With those percentages in mind, do you advocate taking tax dollars away from both the taxpayers and the truly needy category 1 people to give to categories 2, 3 and 4 people? Do you think it's just to lump all of the people on San Francisco's streets together as "suffering people" and continue to accommodate and enable them indefinitely? I really would like to know.

'...the avalon in southbeach is getting 2-4k/mo for 2 bedrooms depending upon if its furnished and the timeframe to rent and your credit, etc, etc....'

Well I'll tell you suckafree if the monthly mortgage payment doesn't approach $8000 if it was purchased in the last year or so it is because they had a greater than 20% downpayment or else it is a 'teaser rate' ARM that will greatly increase in a time frame you may as well consider imminent.

he lives in the tender knob and thinks he's close enough to the tl to call himself a man of the people.

i doubt he has the balls to answer you anonymister, or to admit which of those 4 groups his mother came from.

;)

What portion of the population that lived in sf in 2000 was driven out by bad faith evictions from real estate speculators????

What percent of recent good faith homebuyers in sf are going to lose their life savings because they were suckered into scam mortgages???

Thousands and thousands and thousands.

Jen:

I could only hope to have a GF who would stick up for me like you do for GN. That is, unless you're POSTING as "jen" and your initials are Peter Ragone.

This whole smear campaign on Daly has his fingerprints all over it.

Way to prevaricate, Dan.

Yes, speculators and greedy owners forced out a lot of people during the boom. We all know people who left town then.

Now how about answering my questions? What percentages fall into each of those 4 categories? Is it just to take working people's tax dollars and divert it from the relatively small group of truly needy and helpless people and instead spread it around among the freeloaders and arrivistes, encouraging even more to come here and get on the public teat?

"I'd be suprised if rincon makes 10 percent and sells out in the next 5 years.

It will be a ghost town for several reasons, the 50mm being one of many. They have no deeded parking, again thanks to daly, so nobody wants to buy. Its ugly, its next to a bridge, literally, its in a horrible part of town."

Hey retard, Rincon hill is almost fully in contract. The only thing that isnt doing all that well are the 14 townhomes at the base.
But keep spewing misinformation as fact..

"Only 2 of 14 townhomes, but 368 of 376 tower condos, in contract "

It's on socketsite.com

Only in SF does someone get to make up things online and have it be trusted as fact.

'competitive bidding' in sf is obviously a joke.

user-pic

I just have to chime in and say that Rincon Hill is a great area to live in ... close to The Embarcadero, AT&T Park, and the FiDi (where many of us work at not necessarily above "median area incomes"). The Infinity is fabulous .... One Rincon Hill takes a little getting used to, but has contracts on almost all of their first tower units (these are unlikely subprime buyers, though that's debatable), and Millennium will be a dandy once it is finished.. not to mention the other four or so high-rise condo projects in the queue ... and then there's the rebirth of the Transbay Transit Center.

Sure, folks will be made at the "changes," but high-rise condos make sense for the environment, the demand for housing in the area, and for turning a once delapidated part of town into a bustling new neighborhood.

Rincon Hill is a rising star .... and yes, I live there so there is definite bias.

>>you live under the constant threat of being driven out of the city by a corrupt real estate speculator.

Hey Dan - Our whacked housing prices are the direct result of forces akin to Chris Daly and the SFTU. I can only dream of a day when the affordable housing advocates would realize that the solution to our local housing crisis would be to increase supply and allow for market rate pricing of all rents.

dan -

In response to your queries and comments:

"Patrick!!! Is that really you at patrick.net???"

Of course. There's only one patrick in SF, and only one on the Internets. We are the same. Anybody claiming to have the name Patrick is just fucking with you.

"No I'm not so naive at to believe sf developers will accept 10%. I just said EVERYBODY ELSE most other places in america accepts 10% and that is GROSS profit not NET."

Right again. 10% gross profit is the target they teach you to shoot for in business school. The net profit's not even important, really. Nobody really looks at that part.

"You greedy ass motherfucker."

Well, yes, but you're only half right. I haven't *actually* fucked my mother. Yet.

"Now I'm curious what bank you go to that offers a 10% cd......"

This one I can help with. Turns out a 60-story building takes a few years to build -- can you believe that shit? I thought they just sorta sprang from the earth. But anyway. Invest the money in CDs that pay an annual yield of 4.75%, and keep reinvesting the matured total for four years... what do you end up with?

You're neat, Dan. Let's spend more time together.

Ok we have over a 100 empty shelter bed's in the city nightly! But we have people sleeping in doorways??? True a percent are mental cases but a large percent are supporting habits stealing/B&E's on car's. Housing can be provided if the indivduals takes step's and follow's some basic rules. But as stated many get an SRO and won't work so now you've got a percent housed stealing doing crack so on and so on. Business is good the dealers take BART work those area's well, wear 300 Nikes are celled up with look out's
Use young females who carry crack in their pu--y the male carry in there mouth so if confronted by SFPD swollow it BAM no evidence.
Why do i know this i live in 6 walking to work i watch it daily, i've seen a girl count money i left when she hit 3000.00 no 1040 required.
When does the killing start when some wants that area or someone got beat out of $$$$$$

Of course. There's only one patrick in SF, and only one on the Internets. We are the same...

Heh heh -- Patrick, you own this thread.

retard,

in contract only means you put down a deposit of 2k, not that you closed and funded your purchase. go ask someone not on the sales team over there and be specific. 'how many transactions have closed over here, not deposits!'

clyde,

not surprising. the average homeless person will admit they like living on the street since they dont have anyone telling them to get up in the morning, hence they will never take the shelter option.

dan,

i still can't figure you out. let me guess. you are a bitter, single, 30 something white boy that moved here during the .com boom for a joke of a job with an even bigger joke of a bloated salary. you pissed all that money away chasing tail, then got laid off, no pun intended. you didn't get a chance to buy a place before the last run up in prices and now you are taking it out on all of us that did.

am i close?

Right, I'm sure people can be in contract for a place in 1 rincon for only 2k - no credit checks, etc.
And im sure of those 350+ people 90% of them are going to drop out so that the building takes 10 years to sell out and the place resembles a ghost town.
Right. What color are those glasses?
