Busy 24 Hours At SF General

sfgh614.jpgIt wasn't just that shooting in Western Addition this morning -- it's been kind of a violent 24 hours there and in the Mission.

At around 5:40 p.m. yesterday, there was a stabbing at Capp and 17th -- a guy was stabbed with an ice pick after getting out of a car. The stabber then jumped into another car and tried to run the victim down, and then jumped out of the car and stabbed the victim again. The cops got the stabber but the person driving the second car got away. The vIctim was taken to SF General and is expected to survive.

Next, around 9:30 p.m., three men were shot in the Western Addition (McAllister near Webster) by a group of seven men. Two victims went to SF General and are expected to survive. The third guy went to Kaiser and isn't doing so well. (We just saw Michael Moore's Sicko last night, but we're sure this has nothing to do with the quality of care at HMOs.) One bystander was hit as well but is okay.

Next, at around 11:50 p.m., there was a shooting at 18th and Capp. Two men approached the victim, fired multiple shots, and fled. (We think we heard this one last night as we were toiling away on Day Around The Bay.) Victim was taken to SF General with life-threatening injuries.

And finally, this morning at around 11:00 a.m., there was another shooting in that same area of the Mission, on Valencia Street between 17th and 18th (the block of the police station). A guy playing soccer was approached by another man, an argument broke out, and the soccer player got shot three times, The victim was rushed to SF General, and is expected to live. (Where can you play soccer around there? Please don't say the police station.) Update: New reports say the shooting was at 19th and Valencia, and was gang-related

and just think Daly got beat down for introducing a anti-gun measure.LOL!

There is a soccer playing area (hard top) just next to Range restaurant. 20th is it?

Damned… the City is getting a little out of hand. Maybe it’s the weather. Hopefully this weekend’s fog will return some sanity to this place.

Jerry if you really think the guns used in these shootings were bought via government regulated channels (ie at a gun store) then I have a bridge you might be interested in purchasing.

A ban on pistols in the City would be fine with me if you can figure out how to take the guns away from the criminals first. Otherwise, you're just reducing the risks involved for criminals and increasing the risks for folks who just want to enjoy living.

those people are trash no hope nor value in society, we already fucked them up beyond repair; and need to be killed on site or picked up with a crane and put in a desolate area of montana or someplace we don't have to be affected by them or where they will never make it to any civilization before they die of starvation and exposure

don't outlaw guns. Yet.

the way it stands right now, then only criminals and the police will have them and you will have no protection nor security.

why support the police payroll when they don't do anything. they just look the other way until they "have" to get involved. In some ways they are as frightening as these losers out there acting like little boys but with real toy guns

Hey I D A you sound like you be in the NRA. Well to make you happy, we might as well pass a law requiring all city dwellers to carry ultra-high powered assault machine guns loaded with plutonium tipped bullets. That way we can be sure that everyone gets creamed, especially those pieces of trash you mentioned.

BTW there is no room left in Montana because a bunch of Hollywood people bought most of the land so they could move away from the hood and the violence. Hope none of them have their surgically altered faces mistakenly shot off by a moose hunter or Dickless Chaney.
