Well, as a some-years resident of neighboring San Bruno, I can tell you why we're abandoning our big-ass home there and moving to a tiny rental in Girly-Game: Excellent public schools, no $15000/yr private school tuition bill... and San Brunos is just a lowly non-descript suburb. Imagine how bad it is with the school situ in SF. Parents who want to guarantee their kid goes to a school with marginally acceptable test scores and extracurriculars are out of luck - and you have to BEG and offer reach-around to get into private school of any kind there. Pretty powerful incentive to move to a place where the schools are free and the API scores are consistently 99%. Yeah yeah test scores schmest scores who cares, right? Well, PARENTS CARE!!! As for the residency scandal, I say hangin's too good for him. If I lived in Jew's district I'd be pretty pissed too.

Maybe "Tapioca Ed" could be renamed "Burlingame Ed," in honor of where he really hangs out. Or to be more hip and modern, it could be, say, "Tapioca-Burlingame Ed."

Historically, San Francisco has had a sort of colonial relationship with San Mateo County (running the Airport, leading in utility administration). So it is a bit of irony that now San Mateo County has a representative on the S. F. Board of Supervisors...

It would be interesting to talk to Ed Jew's wife, to find out why she prefers living in Burlingame.
