--...and as promised, here's the back of the Ed Jew calendar, from reader Jake. Thanks, Jake! Irony alert! Can you guys see the "please contact me if you have problems or if issues concern you" tagline?
--Fog City has heard rumors that Peskin might make Daly give up his position as chair of the Budget and Finance Committee. Meanwhile, the Sentinel reports that Daly misread the press release that Newsom's people sent out, and the Newsom people are crowing, "From Smackdown to Backdown." How many times do we have to tell you? Chris Daly does not back down!
--The NFL's going to let Mike Nolan wear a suit to football games.
--A three-alarm fire on College Ave. in Berkeley.
--Former superintendent Arlene Ackerman's dropped her lawsuit against the San Francisco school district.
--And happy birthday, Mary-Kate Olsen! (You too, Ashley).
--Oh! Sorry! We forgot to tell you. We went to the Sicko screening hosted by Gavin Newsom this evening (we totally hid from Peter Ragone), and can report that Jennifer Siebel has dyed her hair a reddish-brown.

Unfortunately, not a single search result for "ed jew calendar" on eBay.
That's great that the NFL is letting Nolan wear his suits, but why only for home games? It's insane that they discourage coaches from looking sharp and respectable in suits while allowing coaches like Bill Belichick to look like scruffy hobos in hoodies.
But the best thing about it is that Niners fans are talking about protesting by wearing suits to the home opener on September 10th! I'm so there.
Is Newsom still dating that dope? Ugh.
I was hoping the Ed Jew calendar would have a Burlingame phone number.
Does the carpet match the rug?
