As a Chicagoan (I was raised there and you are never not a Chicagoan once you've spent 14 years there, raised by Chicagoan parents), I can say I'm digging this whole saga. It feels like what big city politics is supposed to be like: Italian Opera. Well no one's died, yet, and there isn't any bloodshed, yet, but still it beats -- the I'm-more-liberal/more-San-Franciscan-than-you-are crap that normally passes for political "news" in SF. I hope this drags on for many more months!

Gruel is surprised that three weeks have passed and the city attorney still wants the documents. I suppose he'll write to the IRS next about how they sucker-punched him with their secret April 15th deadline. And Tapioca originates in South America, BTW.
