Who's Aaron Peskin? We .... Can't Recall!

398028989_5febe24478_m.jpgYes, we know, we know, we made that exact same joke about the Recall Jake McGoldrick movement underway in District 1 -- we're going to keep making this joke until people stop trying to recall elected officials. We do not need more things on the ballot.

The Examiner confirms the reports we'd been hearing that someone's decided to start a recall campaign against District 3 Supervisor (and Board of Supes president) Aaron Peskin. So according to the Ex, this guy named Rex Reginald, who doesn't even live in Peskin's district, has kick-started this off because he's mad that Peskin refused to consider this guy's proposal to let landlords charge more rent per pet. Reginald lives in the Sunset! Tell it to Tapioca Ed Jew!

It turns out there's a motley crew of disaffected Peskinites who actually live in District 3, including people who are unhappy about some anti-development positions Peskin took in Chinatown, and some complaints about how Peskin bought his house. About 40 people signed a petition saying they want to start a recall and filed it on Wednesday. To get the recall petition on the ballot, they'll need to get 10% of District 3 residents to sign on, which is a little less than 3400 people.

At any rate, the District 3 recallers seem a little more organized than the ragtag Recall Daly team over in District 6. (We love the "we need a webmaster" plea for help on this page.) Does everyone have a recall team now?

Where do i sign? seriously..

Pesky Peskin has bothered me since day 1. He's short-sighted on many issues and needs to back more pro-development policies. I'll sign too!

Rex Reginald is a f**king idiot. Landlords already DO charge more for pets, and they get huge bonuses in the form of their extortionist pet deposits.

Reginald should go the hell back to LA. Yeah, there's a motley crew of people disaffected with Peskin. This idiot got what, 40 signatures? Yep, that's a lot of people all right.

And this recall crap is getting ridiculously out of hand.

Agreed, bluecanny. This Reginald shmuck doesn't even live in District 3, so it's clear that he is just bitter about not being able to charge San Franciscans more on rent. And Peskin, despite what his naysayers claim, is one of the more reasonable members of the Board. He doesn't masquerade under a "progressive" platform; he has consistently voted in step with his D3 base, and brings a much-needed balance to the Board.

And if someone should be recalled, what about, Oh, I don't know, Ed Jew? He appears to have broken some laws, while Peskin and McGoldrick simply take firm stances against fanatics. Enough with this recall crap, indeed!

peskin has been on my shit list ever since he single handidly cancelled the bgi bike race in north beach. he did it to appease a few folks that complained about the parking that one day per year. unbelievable!

ps who you calling rag tag?

;)

Aaron Peskin is a very short man but other than that I don't see why recall should even be discussed. This man was re-elected and hasn’t done anything Ed-Jew like. This is an abuse of the system
