I have 3 words for you (T-Thug Third) Stop the insanity... Make the Thug Third line stop at 4th and King and then ask the half dozen or so folks with jobs from the Bayview to walk across the street to the N-Judah instead of the other way round.

If there are more Ns in the AM (please, Muni, PLEASE!), then that means more chances to hear the second part of Tequila Time's crazy monologue, which preceded the N's glacier-speed entry into Powell Station: "Powell Sta-shun ... you got Macy's, you got Saks, you got Old Navy, New Navy, Mexican Consulate". And if there are more Ns in the AM, and it's a Friday, you just might get to hear the Special Friday Litany: "Folks, it's Friday! And you know what that means .... .. it's tequila time! But don't drink and drive - take Muni! Muni love you ..." And the Special Friday Litany always made even the crankiest, most disgruntled N riders smile. And the commute was just a *bit* more bearable.

I have yet to get the creepy N-Judah "I love you driver", but there is one driver I get on the way back from work that drives super-aggressively once he is out of the subway tunnel. It's rather nice, he gets the train moving as soon as it goes out of ATCS mode, unlike the other drivers that sort of sit there for a minute.

The funniest/creepiest thing about that driver was how he'd anounce "Muni love you...and I will see you...VERY, VERY SOON." And yeah, I'll believe in "improvements" when I experience them first-hand.

- Does this mean more inbound Ns on weekdays? If so, hurrhah. - Me soooo confused .... the K becomes the T? And vice-versa? Huh? Maybe they should call it the KT and the Sunshine Line. - A new bus: really? I'll believe it when/if I see it. - When does that new Muni logo go into effect? Love it. - And most importantly, when are they putting Tequila Time back in charge of running the N on weekday mornings? His placid, repetitive "Muni love you ... I know you don't love Muni, but Muni love YOU" monologue was the best thing to ever happen to the N.

The updates to the metro lines are great. While they're updating those, it sounds like Muni would need to update the little metro maps in trains. And maybe they'll do a better job at indicating how convenient the Church and Market/Duboce area is with all 5 lines.

I think the 10 Townsend was the last new line, JC. But many of these "new" lines are actually resurrections of old bus or streetcar lines, from back in the days when SF actually had a functional transit system (pre WWII).

Very good developments, especially on the bus side. When the 15 was eliminated, I was very concerned that all of the changes resulted in simply more traffic being routed onto a Stockton Street Director Ford has already admitted is way too crowded already and less service to the Financial District and SOMA east of Stockton/3rd. The new 20-Columbus sounds like a very good idea. (BTW when was the last time MUNI introduced a new bus line I wonder - anyone know?) And restoring the 10 Townsend is a similarly good idea. Would be even better if they extended its weekday service to, say, 9 PM but I guess I shouldn't be greedy. (Then, at least, it would come close to approaching the value of the old 42 Downtown Loop.) I can't speak to the rail changes, but on the bus side of things, definitely an improvement for SOMA and North Beach.

Grr. They can't change the names because they already made all those signs. You'll never see a Castro Shuttle again. Those Ts ending at Castro were the best thing to happen to Muni...sigh. Nice while it lasted.
